Never criticize the other person in front of friends, parents, children, or anyone else for that 28 . Criticizing in front of a third party has the same effect as 29 . III: 语法填空 (每小题2分,共10小题,共20分)An old proverb says, "Friends are like wine; the older, the better." So, nowadays many people consider old friends to be of more 31 (important) than new friends. For example, 32 two pieces of advice are given to solve a problem, between which one is from a new friend, and the other is from 33 old friend, people always tend to adapt(采纳)the latter one, 34 the new friend's advice may be better. Disagreeing with the old proverb, I believe 35 new friends are not necessarily worse than old friends. Why? Because the length of time cannot determine whether your friendship is better or 36 . Once you call someone friend, he must be a person who is 37 (rely) and whose interests are in common with 38 . As time goes by, a friend's outside look may change, 39 the inside characters of him and his interests will hardly change. It was just these 40 (change) characters and interests that make him a friend to you. So, on this point, there is no difference between old friends and new friends.

B When it comes to friends, I desire those who will share my happiness, who possess wings of their own and who will fly with me. I seek friends whose qualities illuminate(照亮)me and train me up for love. It is for these people that I reserve the glowing hours, too good not to share. When I was in the eighth grade, I had a friend. We were shy and “too serious” about our studies when it was becoming fashionable with our classmates to learn acceptable social behaviors. We said little at school, but she would come to my house and we would sit down with pencils and paper, and one of us would say, “Let’s start with a train whistle today.” We would sit quietly together and write separate poems or stories that grew out of a train whistle. Then we would read them aloud. At the end of that school year, we, too, were changing into social creatures and the stories and poems stopped. When I lived for a time in London, I had a friend, He was in despair and I was in despair. But our friendship was based on the idea in each of us that we would be sorry later if we did not explore this great city because we had felt bad at the time. We met every Sunday for five weeks and found many excellent things. We walked until our despairs disappeared and then we parted. We gave London to each other. For almost four years I have had remarkable friend whose imagination illuminates mine. We write long letters in which we often discover our strangest selves. Each of us appears, sometimes in a funny way, in the other’s dreams. She and I agree that, at certain times, we seem to be parts of the same mind. In my most interesting moments, I often think, “Yes, I must tell….”We have never met.It is such comforting companions I wish to keep. One bright hour with their kind is worth more to me than the lifetime services of a psychologist(心理学家),who will only fill up the healing(愈合的)silence necessary to those darkest moments in which I would rather be my own best friend.46. In the eighth grade, what the author did before developing proper social behavior was to _________.A. become serious about her studyB. go to her friend’s house regularlyC. learn from her classmates at schoolD. share poems and stories with her friend47. According to Paragraph 4, the author and her friend _________.A. call each other regularly B. have similar personalitiesC. enjoy writing to each other D. dream of meeting each other49. In the darkest moments, the author would prefer to _________.A. seek professional help B. be left aloneC. stay with her best friend D. break the silence50. What is the best title for the passage?A. Unforgettable Experiences B. Remarkable ImaginationC. Lifelong Friendship D. Noble Companions
C Almost all theme park accidents can be prevented. Here, based on theme park safety, are some tips to help you and your family stay safe on your next visit. Stay Cool, and Don't Get BurnedHeat causes more pain and injury at theme parks than all the world's roller coasters (过山车) combined. Water is your best friend in helping prevent heat-related illnesses in theme parks. Choose water rather than juice and soft drinks whenever you get thirsty. Put on a waterproof sunscreen before you enter the park. A hat or sunglasses can help, too. _____________________ (subtitle)On any theme park ride, keep your rear(后部)on the seat, your hands on the grab bar(扶手) and your feet and knees inside the car. If there is no grab bar, keep your hands on your lap (膝部). If you are riding a “floorless” coaster, relax your legs. Don't kick them out to the side or front. Do not get on or off a ride until you've been given the okay by an attendant to do so. Help the Kids If you are visiting with a child, tell them how they should behave. Meanwhile, parents also know the following rules, too. ★Tell them to stay seated, to hold the grab bar or put their hands in the laps. ★And never put a crying child on a ride. If your child starts to cry, let others pass you in line until your child is calmed. Or, gently exit the queue and find something more relaxing to do. ★Let them take plenty of breaks. “Kids get tired,” said TPI reader Matt Johnson, a father of four. “Tired kids make parents even more tired. And tired kids and parents get hurt -- physically and emotionally.” He advises that parents plan a mid-day break, perhaps a swim back at the hotel, to avoid mid-day heat and crowds. “You will see many families having a miserable time while you are refreshed and having a great evening.”51. The subtitle for the third paragraph should be ________. A. Look After Yourselves B. Do Not Get On or Off a Ride Alone C. Relax Your Legs D. Stay In to Stay Safe52. The best title for the passage would probably be _________. A. Theme Park Safety Tips B. How to protect yourselves better C. Full preparations before visiting Theme Park D. Theme Park Accidents53. Which of the following is NOT right for children who are taking the rides? A. Juice and soft drinks can help prevent heat- related illnesses in theme parks. B. On any theme park ride, keep your hands on the grab bar or on your lap. C. Without an attendant’s okay sign, do not get on or off a ride.D Let a crying child have a good rest and relax themselves.54. The underline word “emotionally” (Paragraph3) most probably means _________. A. bodily B. moodily C. mentally D. materially55. We may infer from Matt Johnson's words that _________. A. he doesn't like to visit a theme park with his children. B. parents with many children are always tired of visiting a theme park.
