One possible version:
Dear manager,
I have been thoroughly impressed with the service I have received.
Firstly, I would like to express my sincere thanks to John, the tour guide from Green River Travel
Agency, for his warm service along the journey. John is good at explaining things on the timetable, as well
as some related information about the places that we went to. Secondly, the schedule for our one-day
journey was thoughtfully arranged so that both my parents and I had a really wonderful time. We arrived at
the destinations and saw the sights at a reasonable amount of time with great comfort. Besides, some
annoying parts like forced-shopping was avoided, which has saved much of our time.Last but not least, I
would like to recommend Green River Travel Agency to my friends. It is with your great efforts that my
parents and I can enjoy such a great day!
Thanks again.Yours,
Li Hua

Text 1
W: Hey, how did you do on the exam?
M: Ah, I got an 82. It’s OK, I guess. But I thought I’d get at least an 85.
Text 2
W: If you scare me like that again, I’ll yell and the neighbors will hear.
M: I’m sorry. It was too good to pass up. You were just sitting there, and I thought it would be funny to
throw the cat on you.
Text 3
W: When will you be home?
M: Around three.
W: OK. I’ll need the car after that. I’m going to the movies with Sharon.
M: Oh. I was hoping to take you out to dinner.
Text 4
W: Airport, please. I’m running a little late. So just take the fastest way, even if it’s not the most direct.
M: Sure, but there is a lot of traffic everywhere today because of the football game.
Text 5
M: I’m still wondering whether we should get another credit card.
W: Isn’t that just another bill to pay?
M: It could be. But we don’t have to use it a lot. I just want to build up our credit scores. They’re not as
high as they should be, and the only way to get a home loan is to have really good credit.
最佳选项,并标在试卷的相应位置。听每段对话或独白前,你将有时间阅读各个小题,每小题5秒钟;
W: I don’t know if I can do it, Dad.
M: Take your time, honey. I know it’s still a little painful.
W: It is. I’m afraid, too. M: I understand. But Guy won’t do anything to you. I promise.
W: What if he gets scared again?
M: This is a safe place. No one’s going to make him scared. It wasn’t his fault last time,
remember?
W: I know. Poor Guy! He didn’t mean to hurt me. Horses just get scared at loud noises sometimes. He
didn’t mean to throw me off — did you, Guy? OK, Dad. I think I’m ready to get on him again.
M: How’s your neck?
W: Not too bad today. I think I can ride.
M: What an ugly color! Look at that green…it looks like someone threw up on this sweater. Why would
anyone buy it?
W: This color has a long history. Before it came to be on this sweater, it was the color of the year,
picked by the top fashion designers in the world. The year it was chosen — I think it was 1983 — it
was on all the most expensive, fashionable clothing. People who can’t afford the best clothing still
have to wear something — and they like to keep up with the trends, too. So, this color that you think
is so bad was carefully picked and affected much of the world in its time. Now, of course, it looks
less impressive than it did back then — especially being on such a poorly made sweater.
W: Something great happened today.
M: What’s that?
W: Well, you know that my Uncle Jim has been very sick for a while.
M: Yeah, poor man! How’s he doing these days?
W: Worse and worse. Last week, the doctors finally said they couldn’t do anything more to help him. They
sent him home, thinking he would die within a few days.
M: Oh, no! Is he going to die soon?
W: No! That’s the amazing thing. When I found out he’d gotten out of the hospital, I went to his house. He
wasn’t feeling great, but we sat and talked about some good memories we had. After that, I went over
every day. I read stories to him, and we watched movies and played video games together. And we
laughed a lot! I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that much! Today, he had an appointment with the
doctors. They only thought he could get worse, but he’s getting better!
M: That’s great! So, you think it was because he wasn’t in the hospital anymore?
W: I think it’s the laughing. They say laughter is the best medicine!
W: I thought you went to work. Why are you still home, Daniel?
M: I didn’t want to tell you, because I didn’t want you to worry. I lost my job last week.
W: Uh-oh! What about the rent? How are you going to pay your share?
M: Um… I was hoping you’d help me out a little, Erin. Isn’t that what older sisters are for?
W: Yeah, I guess they are…but I can’t pay my baby brother’s rent forever. We’ll have to move to a cheaper
place soon if you don’t get another job. What are you planning to do?
M: I don’t know! I thought my job at the theater was perfect.W: You only sold tickets to people and helped them find their seats.
M: Right, but I got to watch great performances for free!
W: Come on! You could be doing something better than that! I know you’re a great cook, and you’ve
always wanted to open your own sandwich shop. Why don’t you try to do that?
M: Where would I begin? I don’t know anything about running a business.
W: Well, I do. I’ve been running my online store for five years. I know all the legal stuff you have to do to get
started. And my friend Mike just closed his coffee house, and it’s the perfect space for your sandwich
shop. It has a nice little kitchen in it already.
M: That sounds perfect! You’re a great sister!
Hey, class! Guess where you’re going for the annual school trip? To France! It’s going to be amazing!
And guess who’s going with you? Yes, your favorite teacher — me, Mr. Fun! But seriously, this is
probably going to be the best trip yet. Mr. Mayer and I are planning what we’ll do while we’re there. We’ll
be going during spring break, at the end of March. The flowers in the French countryside will be blooming
while we eat delicious French bread for breakfast. We’ll be staying in the beautiful city of Nice for a few
days, where we’ll watch a boat race along the Mediterranean coast. We’re also planning to spend plenty of
time in Paris. Our days in the capital will be spent walking around the city streets in search of good
desserts, drinking coffee in the famous cafés, and visiting places like the Eiffel Tower. One day, we will
play a human chess game against a local Paris high school. You’ve gotten pretty good at the game, so we’ll
see how well you can play against another school! Remember that it’s always a game where the best
strategy wins. You’ll still have to try to win their king in a creative way. Afterwards, we’ll all go out for
steak and French fries! We’re going to have a great time!
