In the far future, robots live on Earth as humans but the population of humans is smaller
than a thousand. This is a story of a repair robot R62.
One day, a car came to the repair factory and a human stepped out of the car.
“Wow, a human! I have never seen a real one,” said R62.
“Humans are quite clever. They're able to do any action they want to. They're even able to
harm other human beings or organize wars, which they have been doing a lot in the history. Also
they don't even have to follow orders if they don't want to,” said another robot T59 quietly to
R62.
“How terrible it is! And almost all robots seem afraid of him and don't look at him
directly,” said R62.The human then sat down and asked if there had been any problems in the
last 10 years and he only got a quick answer, “No, sir.”
Then suddenly, R62 said loudly, “I have one question for you.”
The human said, “Yes”, a bit unhappy for not getting “sir”.
“Why do human create so many robots?” asked R62.
Silence followed the question and he then said, “I don't need to answer questions from
robots!” He then went into his car and drove away quickly.
“I really don't understand why humans replaced (取代)themselves with robots,”asked R62.
“Because they thought that robots were more advanced(先进的) than humans. They
created us to support themselves,” answered T59.
“But there are so few humans on Earth. What they should do is take away the robots or at
least make them stop doing the work which humans are supposed to do,” said R62.
“I agree. But we can do nothing about it. And now we have to finish repairing this car,”
said T59.
“All right, let's continue.”
25.In T59's opinion, humans are ________.
A. stupid B. polite
C. dangerous D. smart26.According to the text, R62 ________.
A. dared not look at the human directly
B. decided to give up its job
C. was not friendly to the human
D. hope to live on Earth
27.What can we learn from the story?
A. R62 doesn't know what human beings look like.
B. T59 knows a lot about human beings.
C. T59 doesn't want to support human beings.
D. R62 and T59 are brothers and do different jobs.
C
It is quite natural for all of us to want to preserve and protect the foods we purchase. With
that in mind, we often think that the best way to do that is by putting them in our refrigerators.
However, that is not always the case.
Bread
Nothing dries out bread faster than your refrigerator. In the event that you have made
sandwiches with the bread, then you can place them in the fridge. The cold temperature will
make the bread tough and chewy.
Tomato
We all love tomatoes for their taste. But putting them in the refrigerator will cause them to
lose all of their flavor (口味). Plus, the cold air in the cooler stops the ripening process as well.
And as we all know, ripening is what gives every tomato more taste and flavor. For best results,
keep tomatoes out, and inside a basket or a bowl on your counter.
Salad
Oil or vinegar based salad can be stored for a long period of time without refrigeration.
Moreover, refrigeration of salad dressings brings bad smell. Keep in mind that some salads that
are mayo (蛋黄酱) or yogurt based should be refrigerated in order to keep them fine. So if you
have some salads that have been already dressed, you can keep them away from your fridge
without any hesitation.
Egg
It is a long debate whether you should keep eggs inside your refrigerator or not. One study suggests that keeping eggs whether in a refrigerator or not does not change their normal qualities,
so it can be said that if you keep eggs at room temperature, there should not be any problem.
There is another study that shows that keeping eggs inside the refrigerators has a bad effect on
the natural taste and flavor of eggs, so it is wise to keep eggs outside of your fridge.
28. Which of the following lose(s) water quickest in the cooler?
A.Bread. B.Tomatoes.
C.Salad. D.Eggs.
29. What should we do with tomatoes to get the best taste?
A.Put them in the cooler. B.Cook them at once.
C.Make them ripen faster. D.Leave them in the shade.
30. What will go bad easily without refrigeration?
A.Dressed salad. B.Mayo and yogurt.
C.Oil and vinegar. D.Salad dressings.
第二节(共 5 小题;每小题 2 分,满分 10 分)根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能
填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
How to Beat the Procrastination Habit
I am a procrastinator (拖延症患者). I always have been. I've tried all sorts of things to beat
the habit. Here are some techniques I've been using:
Set aside blocks of time to do things.
When I was talking with my wellness (健身) coach earlier this year, she asked me why I
didn't exercise more often. “ __31__,” I said. “Something always comes up.” She wasn't
impressed. “J.D.,” she said, “You have to make time. Make an appointment with yourself to
run or to go for a bike ride.” The same principle applies to other things you might procrastinate.
__32__. Often I'll be sitting on the back porch reading a book, and it will occur to me that
some chore needs to be done - mending the fence, for example. “__33__,” I tell myself.
Wrong! What usually happens is that I forget to write it down, and even if I do, I just look at the
list and procrastinate for weeks on end. The best move is to actually do the chore when I think of
it. (Assuming, of course, that I have the time at that moment, which I usually do.)
Use a timer to bring you back to reality.Part of the reason I procrastinate is that I'm a daydreamer. _34__. One way to keep on track
is to use a timer. I use the Ultrak Jumbo Countdown Timer, but not as often as I should. I set it
for 48 minutes. When it goes off, __35__:Am I doing what I'm supposed to be doing?
Do not multitask.
I often start many things at once, but I never actually do any of them. In order for me to get
something done, I need to focus my attention on it. Trying to do several things at once is a sure
way to be sure they'll all be unfinished tomorrow.
A.I'm always lost in thought
B.it brings me back to reality
C.If it comes to mind, then do it
D.I don't have the time
E. it serves as an instant reality check
F. Do it right away if you are asked to do something
G. I need to write that down so I can remember it

refrigeration of salad dressings brings bad smell.和 So if you have some
salads that have been already dressed, you can keep them away from
your fridge without any hesitation.可知加油和醋的沙拉不宜放在冰箱
里,色拉调料的冷藏会带来难闻的气味,做好的沙拉也不宜放在冰
箱里。故排除 A、C、D 三项。根据 that some salads that are mayo (蛋

I am Li Hua. Recently, I find it quite hard to devote myself to my
study. So I’m writing to ask you for help.
Some problems have troubled me a lot. First, I have to spend so
much time on my homework that I hardly have time to take sports.
Moreover, the more I think of the high expectation from the teachers
and my parents, the more pressured I feel. What troubles me most is that
it’s difficult for me to fall asleep every night.
Facing all the above, I’m eager to get your help. Could you please
offer me some advice on how to solve these problems?
Yours ,
Li Hua
