On Nov.24, near Yellowstone's northeast entrance, Spitfire. a female grey wolf, was
shot and killed by a hunter as she approached a group of cottages.
"It was a legal harvest." Abby Nelson, a wolf management specialist said. The
circumstances are obviously a little bit harder for people to stomach, but that pack has showed
signs of habituation (习惯). They just stand there and have no fear. Wolf hunters can easily pick
the one they want. "
The carefree relation that some Yellowstone wolves have built with humans is
reportedly attractive for hunters who look for an easy kill.
In the wake of yet another famous Yellowstone wolf meeting a violent end outside the
park, officials are actively rethinking, how to manage wildlife habituation
Smith, a wolf biologist for Yellowstone says, “Now we re thinking of pounding them.
"Park officials might use fireworks, and paintball or beanbag guns when they approach humans in
the park. "If you get close to people, you're going to get attacked."
If you think this sounds cruel, you're not alone. Seeing these creatures from the roads
that wind through the park not only allows tourists to witness something amazing. but also to
reconnect with nature in a way that is better than any conservation campaign. But there's also a
growing sense that the present policy of doing nothing isn't workings: more wolves will needlessly
die and the broken record of hunters scoring easy kills will goon.
As Smith adds. urging people to keep wolves wild when meeting them halfway is a big
ask. Sill, he's hopeful to preserve the world's best place to observe free ranging wolves; it’s a
policy change that tourists can be involved in.
“.......Perhaps Spitfire’s death will accomplish some good and we'll all come together to a
better job on managing crowds and roads and wolves in Yellowstone," Smith said.

D. Force wolves away from them.

A. The wolves in Yellowstone are out of control.

D
Almost every second of every day an older adult falls in the United States. That's
approximately 29 million falls per year and nearly 27,000 deaths. according to the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention.
Still in the stating stage, the Active Pelvis Orthosis (APO) system in Switzerland wants to
make a lightweight, wearable exoskeleton (外骨骼) that could detect signs of balance loss and
assist with balance recovery to keep the elderly wearer from falling, only when needed.
Other exoskeletons, either in development or on the market today, assist with movement
and make heavy objects feel lighter. Mobility-impaired people can walk again. But none of these
devices predict what the wearer is going to do next and take measures to correct an unsteady
move.
The 3 kilogram (6.7 pound) exoskeleton was built entirely from scratch by the research
team and is designed to be worn on the lower half of the. body. A waistband connects to two
movable carbon fiber braces ( 支架), each one positioned on the outer side of a leg. Tiny motors
and so-called “adaptive oscillators” (适配振荡器) in the computer circuits use a special process to
detect the, wearer's unique paces. That part takes just a few minutes.
While wearing the exoskeleton, a person may feel the braces and the motors pushing
slightly on their legs. If their paces go against normal, the motors create a force in the braces that
cause them to stiffen up and push a little more strongly against the legs, which provides stability.
In the next three years, the APO hopes to develop something that is commercially
available.
32. Why is the new exoskeleton invented?
A. To slower users' walking paces. B. To improve users’ walking ability
C. To promote users' sense of balance. D. To prevent users from falling
33. What’s the feature of the new exoskeleton?
A. It keeps users warm. B. It is worn on the back.
C. It helps users move around. D. It corrects an unsteady move.
34. What does paragraph 4 mainly talk about?
A. How the new exoskeleton works.
B. Where the braces are positioned.
C. How long it takes to detect the user's paces
D. What the new exoskeleton was built from.
35. What is the purpose of the author in writing this text?
A. To call on care for the elderly.
B. To introduce a new invention.
C. To advertise new device
D. To bring hope for the elderly.

第四部分 写作
第一节 短文改错
In March 2014. 1 got the opportunity to apply ∧ a job in China, Although the term has
already started, still an university in Jinan welcomed me to be part of its great institution. Till now
I've been teach in the university for five years. Within these years, I was able to travel to the
nearby cities and also to more visiting cities like Shanghai and Beijing. However, none of these
cities could top how much special Jinan is for me.
Jinan may neither be as industrialized as Shanghai or as historical as Beijing. But Jinan for
me is a true wonderful city. Jinan is known for its springs and homegrown poet like Li Qingzhao
and Xin Qiji. The people here are more friendly than these elsewhere. I love this city.
