【知识详解·记】
代词it可以用来代替一个名词、一个短语或一个
句子, 以避免它们在句中重复。这时它可以指提到过
的, 也可以指未提到过的, 在句中作主语或宾语。主要
用法如下:
1. 人称代词。指代无生命物体, 性别不详或未知
的有生命体。例如:
It’s a tall cherry tree. 它是一棵高的樱桃树。(指
代树)
He couldn’t find out who it was.
他查不出那是谁。(指代不明的人)
2. 非人称代词。作主语指代天气、时间、距离
等。例如:
It’s a bit cold today. 今天有点冷。(指代天气)
It was midnight when she came back.
她回来时已经是午夜了。(指代时间)
It’s not far from my home to the hospital.
从我家到医院不远。(指代距离)
The man likes swimming in winter. He thinks it is
good for his health. 这位男士喜欢冬泳, 他觉得这对他
的健康有好处。(代替前面的冬泳)
3. 作形式主语, 将真正主语(通常是动词不定式短
语、动名词或主语从句)移到句子后面, 以避免句子头
重脚轻。例如:
It is polite of you to put up your hand when you
answer the questions.
回答问题的时候举手是有礼貌的。
4. 作形式宾语, 代替真正宾语(通常是动词不定式
短语、动名词或宾语从句)。例如:
I find it easy to learn English well.
我发现学好英语很容易。
We should make it a habit to get up early.
我们应该使早起成为一种习惯。
