作主语、宾语、表语或定语,用关系代词;
作状语,用关系副词。关系副词= 相应的介词+关系代词which。 练一练:

先行词one afternoon,定语从句不缺主语、宾语、表
语、定语,所以用关系副词when。
通过句子结构判断可知,这是一个定语从句而非并列
句。先行词是many young people,关系代词在定语从
句中作为介词of的宾语.因此用whom.5.【2019·新课标III卷】On our way to the house,it was
raining so hard ______ we couldn't help wondering
how long it would take to get (get)there.
6.【2019·新课标I卷】The polar bear is found in the Arctic
Circle and some big land masses as far south as
Newfoundland. While they are rare north of 88, there is

考查结果状语从句, 因此是so…that.
句意:北极熊通常生活在北极圈以及向南最远到达纽芬兰的一些
大片的陆地上。虽然在北纬88度以北较为罕见,但是有证据表明,
它们的活动范围一直延伸到北极,向南则延伸到加拿大的詹姆斯
湾。这是一个同位语从句,句子来解释名词evidence的内容,而
且不缺意义,因而用that.写作提升 (2017全国卷)

封邮件,内容包括:
