Introduce the Dragon Boat festival
[Time] The Dragon Boat festival, a traditional Chinese festival, is
celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. It dates from over
2,000 year ago, which usually falls on some day in early June.
[Ways] On this day, Chinese people prepare Zongzi—glutinous rice
dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves. As its name shows, people have
dragon boat races to celebrate it, especially in the southern places
where there are many rivers and lakes.
[Meanings] The Dragon Boat Festival is in memory of QU Yuan, a
great poet of ancient China. It is one of the most important festivals in
China.
