Hello everyone!
Hearing that the first Chinese Mars Probe Tian Wen 1 launched on July 23th, 2020 aims to
land on Mars around May, 2021, it’s a great honor for me to be here to congratulate beforehand on
the success. Without doubt, had it not been for the hard work, we Chinese couldn’t have gain such
great achievements. As a student of my generation, I firmly believe it is a time with both
challenges and opportunities, when we could achieve whatever we fight for if we spare no effort
to attain the goal. At the same time, the more I know about my country, the deeper love I have for
her. Wish China, my motherland, all the best.
That’s all. Thanks for your listening.
第二节:(满分 25 分)
“A rescue boat is on its way,” someone yelled to them. Treading water was getting tougher as
time went by. After ten minutes, they managed to get to the river’s edge. Green tried wedging a
hand and a foot into a tiny crack in the wall, resulting in cutting himself in the process. Fighting
the current and holding the man above the water quickly became exhausting, so they gave in to
drifting while staying as close to the wall as they could. Fortunately, the rescue boat finally came
in sight.
However, they encountered a new threat: The flow created by the rapids was sucking them
under the boat. Messina remembers being pulled down just as the rescuers grabbed onto the man,
allowing him to let go. “I was completely out of energy,” he says. Somehow, he grasped a pole

attached to the boat deck, which undisputedly brought him to safety. Within ten minutes, the
group was back on land. The man they had saved was taken to the hospital for evaluation. As for
the rescuers, both of them was at work by 10:30 a.m. “I was a bit late,” admits Green, smiling.
“But I had a good excuse.”

M: I thought I had the flu, or a fever, but the doctor said it was just a bad cold. He gave me some
medicine to take three times a day after eating. But it doesn’t seem to help. He also told me to
have a rest for a day or so, but I’m so busy these days.
W: Listen, I have the thing to help your cold. You see, my mum is really into vegetable medicine.
M: Oh, no, thanks.
W: Ah, come on! Give it a try. Just take some of my mum’s vegetable tea and drink it four times a
day. Believe me, you’ll be up and dancing around in no time.
M: Dancing around in no time? Well, I guess. Nothing else seems to be doing the job.
W: Great. I’ll come by your place at 7:30. See you then.

M: Good morning. This is Bob, your entertainment officer for the day. I’d like to tell you what’s
on today’s program. First off, for those of you who are feeling energetic, the keep-fit class meets
in the Ship’s Gym in 20 minutes at 9:00 am. If you missed yesterday’s competition in the
swimming pool, then come along this afternoon at 3:00 pm for more fun and games. You don’t
need to be able to swim and it’s one way of keeping cool as it looks to be a really clear cloudless
day, unlike yesterday, when you probably needed an extra sweater! Now, on to this evening and
there’s a change to the advertised film programs. Starting in the Ship’s Cinema at 8:00 pm--not
9:00 pm as advertised--is the classic movie The Singing Moon. There are no tickets for this event,
but as seats are rather limited, you’re advised to come along early.
