I wonder whether / if you can help me carry the heavy box. 注意:只能用whether,不能用if的情况: 1) 在带to的不定式前。如: We haven’t decided whether to go to Beijing for a holiday. 2) 在介词后。如: They are worrying about whether they can get there in time. 3) 直接与or not连用时。如: I don’t know whether or not I should take his advice. if后不能直接跟or not,但若or not位于句尾则可用if。如: I’m not sure if / whether the train will arrive on time or not. 4) 当宾语从句位于主句之前时。如: Whether Jessica likes that bag or not, I don’t know. 3. who, what, which, how, when, where, why等 这些词在宾语从句中有其本身的含义,并充当一定的成 分,不能省略。如: Bob told me how he got the information. I don’t know when the meeting will start. She asked where the old man was living. Can you guess why the girl gave up the chance? 二、语序 宾语从句要用陈述句语序。如: Could you please tell me where I can buy a map of China? I wonder who is going there with you. 三、时态 1. 如果主句是一般现在时,宾语从句可根据实际情况来选择 时态;如果主句是一般过去时,宾语从句常用相应的过去 时态。如: Nobody knows where he comes from. Tina asked me when I would return the book to the library. 2. 当宾语从句表示客观事实或真理时,其时态 不受主句限制,需要用一般现在时。如: They said that the moon travels around the earth. used to 过去经常;以前常常 表示过去的习惯性动作或经常性状态,可用于各种人称,后 接动词原形。在构成否定句或疑问句时,可借助助动词did, 如否定式 didn’t use to。如: Amy used to listen to music.
