Mike likes to write by the nice bright light at night. Macao came back to China in 1999. 3. I like the shape of that mountain. 4. Jim must study a little bit more. 5. Let's get together again. I'm working on-it. I'll think-it-over. 8. You ate-too much. 9. I don't know what-to-do. 10. Lend-me your black-bag. 11. I don't-like-people asking me for money. 12. Do you want-that-magazine? 13. Do you need-that-pencil? 14. Ask-Bob-to sit-behind-me. 15. Would you mind-giving me that-red-book? 16. There are thirty-three thousand three hundred and thirty-three feathers[羽毛]on that bird's throat. 17. Neither father nor mother likes this weather. It's the same thing. 19. Something is better than nothing. 20. Father and mother went through thick and thin. I’m~an~English boy. It~is~an~old book. Let me have~a look~at~it. 2. Ms Black worked in~an~office last~yesterday. 3. I called~you half~an~hour~ago. 4. Put~it~on, please .5 Not~at~all. 6. Please pick~it~up. hope it 就不连读为/hupit/,因为主句 I hope 是一个意群,后面的从 句是另一个意群:字母连读:LA [eh•Lay] 读数字时也可以连读: 902 5050 [nai•no•too fai•vo•fai•vo] My name is… [my nay•miz] because I’ve. [b'k'zäiv] pick up on the American intonation… [pi•kə pan the(y) əmer'kə ninətənashən] (1)不只是句子中,读字母缩写也可以连读: LA [eh•Lay] 再来几个简单例子: hold on [hol don] turn over [tur nover] tell her I miss her [teller I misser] (2)“r/re+元音”型连读 如果前一个词是以-r 或者-re 结尾,后一个词是以元音开头,这时 的 r 或 re 不但要发/r/,而且还要与后面的元音拼起来连读。 Eg: 1.They’re my father~and mother. 2. I looked for~it here~and there. 3. There~is a football under~it. 4. There~are some books on the desk. The black clouds are coming nearer and nearer.(nearer 与 and 不可连读) (3)“辅音+半元音”型连读 英语语音中的/j/和/w/是半元音,如果前一个词是以辅音结尾, 后一个词是以半元音,特别是/j/开头,此时也要连读。 1. Thank~you. 2. Nice to meet~you. 3. Did~you get there late~again? 总结:英语中的连读 辅音+元音: That is an apple. Up and down put it on not at all in an hour take off pick it up good idea knock him out stand up I'm working on-it. I'll think-it-over. You ate-too much. I don't know what-to-do. Help me Bad boy I don’t like them. Sit still. Give me a hand. 弱读现象特例[h]: 击穿连读---“h 被击穿连读,即一个辅音与一个”h”字母打头的单词结 合时,[h]音被刺穿,辅音与”h”后的音连读,例如: For hi/m ask hi/m tell hi/m reach hi/m tell hi/m tell h/er The days of the hunter are almost over in India. This is partly because there is practically nothing left to kill, and partly because some steps have been taken mainly by banning tiger-shooting to protect those animals which still survive. Some people say that man is naturally a hunter. I disagree with this view. I believe the main reason why the modern hunter kills is that he thinks people will admire his courage in overpowering dangerous animals. Of course, there are some who truly believe that the killing is not really the important thing and that the chief pleasure lies in the joy of the hunt and the beauties of the wild countryside. Pollution has become a serious problem facing everyone in the world. Many chimneys of factories often send poisonous smoke directly into the air and motorcars giving off heavy smoke can be seen everywhere in the streets. The smoke really does harm to people. But luckily, more and more people have made laws to stop pollution. With the effort of everybody, I am sure that the air if the city will become purer and purer, and our life will become better and better. 1. In those countries, people spend their free time simply resting or chatting. When people are asked why they’ve taken up a particular hobby they tend to give very different reasons. Some say that they feel they ought to do something useful in their spare time; others talk about self-improvement and the importance of learning to do something new. A very popular explanation is that it provides an opportunity to do something completely different from one’s usual work; some people say that if their hobby is an outdoor one, it is a means of making new friends and exchanging ideas. There are those, too, who say they need to do something creative because they’re bored with their jobs. For example, a first grade student should only have 10 minutes of homework, a second grade student 20 minutes, and so on. Yet this is often doubled. It is not good to give students too much homework. According to research, kids are developing more school-related stomachaches, headaches and sleep problems than before. Everybody knows that teachers give homework, but they do not deserve all the blame. Many teachers are under greater pressure than ever before. Some pressure comes from parents and some from the desire for high scores on tests. Teachers who are under pressure feel the need to give more homework. Some people argue that homework prepares kids for performing better in high school, better in college, and getting a better job in the future. The servant type parents are soft and easy-going. They never deny their children any wish, and cheerfully run to buy anything their children ask for. For example, if you are interested in chemistry, you should think carefully and find out which schools offer the best instruction in the field of chemistry. The second thing to consider is the cost of your studies. Tuition costs, or money you pay to go to college, have been rising for the past several years. If you don’t have access to sufficient funds, there are many scholarships available to help you lower the high cost of education. You can apply for these scholarships available in sports, for academic achievement, or for certain fields of study.
