★Step 1 Warming up
1.Let the students enjoy a song“Days of the week”,then think about “What does
the song talk about?”
2.Lead-in
(1)What day is it today?
(2)what do you usually usually do on weekends?
The teacher:There will be two movies on this weekend,do you want to go with
me?
★Step 2 Practice
1.Review the conversation between teacher and students

2.Pairwork
Show some pictures,let the students make their own conversations.
★Step 3 Presentation
1.Show the days of the week in a large monthly calendar and answer the
following questions:
(1)What day is it today? ---It’s Wednesday
(2)What’s the date today? ---It’s June the twenty-seventh.
2.Point out the days of the week at the top of the calendar and lead the student to
answer the question both about day and date .
A:What is today?
B:It’s Wednesday the 27 th
3.Ask a student to point out today's date , tomorrow's date , the day after
tomorrow's date ,yesterday's date and the day before yesterday's date.
4. Lead the students to answer the following questions
A:What is tomorrow/the day after tomorrow?
B:It’s Friday the 28th.
A:What was yesterday/the day before yesterday?
B:It was Tuesday the 26th.
5.Complete Activity 1a,then check the answers.
6.Ask students to write the words today,tomorrow,yesterday and the day after
tomorrow in the correct space on the calendars in their books.
7.Pairwork
Look at the new canlender,ask and answer in pairs to practice the dialogue.
