It might be a man riding a horse . 他可能是一个正骑马的人。 三、语法。 1.在英语中,表示对某件事的确定程度,即表示推测的时候,我们通常用以下 情态动词:must , might , could , may , can’t , couldn’t 。 1)当你不确认某件事情是否是真实的,表示“可能” 、“或许”的意思时,可以用 could , might , may 来表示。may 的可能性稍大些。在回答带有 may 的一般疑 问句时,肯定回答用 may,否定回答用 can’t ; 在回答带有 could 的一般疑问句 时,肯定回答用 could,否定回答用 can’t 。 eg: Jack could speak French .杰克可能会讲法语。 John might know her . 约翰也许认识她。 She may be in hospital . 她可能住院了。 ---May I come in ? 我可以进来吗? ---Yes,you may ./No, you can’t .是的,可以。/ 不,不可以。 ---Could I use your book ? 我可以用你的书吗? ---Yes, you could ./ No, you can’t . 是的,可以。/ 不,不可以。 2)如果你非常确信某事是真的,就用 must 。“一定是” 、“肯定是”。 注意:must 只有在肯定句中才表示判断。在否定句和疑问句中,要用 can’t 和 can 。must 可用来表示我们对某事确有把握。另外,在回答带有 must 的一般 疑问句时,肯定回答用 must,否定回答用 don’t have to 或 needn’t,表示“不必”。 eg: She must be in the office .She can’t be out . 她一定在办公室里,不会出去 的。 His new car must have cost around £20,000. 他的新车一定值大约两万英磅。 --- Must I go now ? 我必须现在去吗? --- Yes ,you must . 是的。 --- No, you needn’t . /No, you don’t have to .不,不必要。 3)表示否定的推测时,一般用 can’t 和 couldn’t 。can’t 、couldn’t 表示非常的 不可能,可能性极小。 eg:That’s impossible ! It couldn’t belong to Tom . It’s mine . 那是不可能的!它不能属于汤姆,它是我的。 I saw her just a few minutes ago . She can’t be there. 刚刚几分钟前我看见她了。她不会在那儿的。 2.whose 引导的特使疑问句,回答可用名词所有格、名词性物主代词或形容物主 代词+名词。 eg: 1)---Whose notebooks are these 这些是谁的笔记本。 ---They are my classmates’. 这些是我同学的。 2)---Whose is that pen 那支钢笔是谁的? ---It’s mine ./ It’s my pen 它是我的(钢笔)。 特殊疑问词+do you think+陈述语序? 带插入语的特殊疑问句使用四要素 带插入语的特殊疑问句是英语中的重要句型,使用这种句型应注意下列几点。 一、分析句子性质,确定句首单词 带插入语的特殊疑问句,虽有插入语的介入,但在句子性质上仍属特殊疑问句, 因此句首单词不能用 Do you think/believe/suppose 等结构中的 Do,而应使 用特殊疑问词。 二、根据特殊疑问句语序的需要。调整插入语的语序 特殊疑问句结构要求特殊疑问词后边用疑问式倒装语序,但在增加了插入语 后,特殊疑问句的内容不再是原来的内容,而是接插入语,所以插入语应使用疑 问式倒装语序。 例 l 你认为他什么时候来? 误:Do you think when he will come? 误:When you think he will come? 正:When do you think he will come? 例 2 你认为他会做什么? 误:D0 you suppose what he will do? 误:What you suppose he will do? 正:What do you suppose he will do? 三、分析插入语对句子结构造成的影响。确定插入语后句的语序 插入语虽然不是句子不可缺少的内容,但因其介入,对原特殊疑问句的结构还 是造成一定影响的,插入语后句应视为宾语从句,采用陈述语序。 例 1 你认为他会去哪里? 误:Where do you think will he go? 正:Where do you think he will go? 例 2 你认为他会怎么办 误:How do you suppose will he do it? 正:How do you suppose he will do it? 四、用消元法去除插入语。确定所缺人称代词的格 当特殊疑问词为人称代词时,因插入语增加了句子结构的复杂性,因此难以确 定使用主格人称代词 who,还是宾格人称代词 whom。因插入语不是句子不可缺 少的内容,此时可用消元法去除插入语,这样句子结构就更简单明确,对人称代 词格的判断也就更简单。 例: do you think has stolen your pen? A.Who B.Whom C.Whose D.What 解析 选 A。本题思考的重点应放在 A、B 两个备选答案上,所缺人称代词似乎做 think 的宾语,又似乎做 has stolen 的主语,到底做主语还是宾语呢?我们可将 do you think 这个插入语省去,这样一来我们可以清楚地看出该空缺主格人称 代词,答案当然是 A 了。 九年级英语 Unit1 1. by + doing 通过……方式 如:by studying with a group by 还可以表示:“在…旁”、“靠近”、“在…期间”、“用、”“经过”、 “乘车”等 如:I live by the river. The student went to park by bus. 2. talk about 谈论,议论,讨论 如:The students often talk about movie after class. 学生们常常在课后 讨论电影。 talk to sb. === talk with sb. 与某人说话 3. 提建议的句子: ①What/ how about +doing sth.? 如:What/ How about going shopping? ②Why don’t you + do sth.? 如:Why don’t you go shopping? ③Why not + do sth. ? 如:Why not go shopping? ④Let’s + do sth. 如: Let’s go shopping ⑤Shall we/ I + do sth.? 如:Shall we/ I go shopping? 4. a lot 许多 常用于句末 如:I eat a lot. 我吃了许多。 5. too…to 太…而不能 常用的句型 too+adj./adv. + to do sth. 如:I’m too tired to say anything. 我太累了,什么都不想说。 6. aloud, loud 与 loudly 的用法 三个词都与"大声"或"响亮"有关。 ①aloud 是副词,重点在出声能让人听见,但声音不一定很大, 常用在读书或说话上。通常放在动词之后。aloud 没有比较级 形式。如: He read the story aloud to his son. 他朗读那篇故事给他儿子听。 ②loud 可作形容词或副词。用作副词时,常与 speak, talk, laugh 等动词连用,多用于比较级,须放在动词之后。如: She told us to speak a little louder. 她让我们说大声一点。 ③loudly 是副词,与 loud 同义,有时两者可替换使用,但往往 含有令人讨厌或打扰别人的意思,可位于动词之前或之后。如: He does not talk loudly or laugh loudly in public. 他不当众大声谈笑。 7. not …at all 一点也不 根本不 如: I like milk very much.
