itwasbuiltin1599andShakespeareandagroupofactorsputmoneytogethertobuildthetheatre.ItwasthefirsttimeeverinEnglandactorshadpaidtobuildatheatre.Sothatwasveryspecial.AnditbecamethenumberonetheatreinLondonasShakespeare'scompanybecamethenumberoneactingcompanyofLondon.Soitbecamefrom1599asthenumberonevenuefortheatreandcertainlythenumberonevenueforShakespeare'splaysuntil1613.TheoriginalGlobeTheatreprovidedgreatentertainmenttothepublicforover13yearsbeforetragedystruck.
Andin1613theyputonaplayaboutHenryVIIIandtheyhadacannoneffecttoannouncethearrivalofthekingonstage.Butitwasaspecialeffectthatwentbadlywrongbecauseasparkfromthecannonflewupandhittheroofwhichismadeofthatch.Itcaughtfireandthetheatreburnttothegroundduringaperformance.Nowweknowhowthefirestarted.Thetheatrewasburntdownduringaperformance
