filledwithTom'sadventuresplayingpiratesandwarwithhisfriendJoeHarper.Tomhasatrustedfriend,HuckFinn,whofewoftheadultsapproveof.Thebookisfilledwithideasofhowtheworldworks,suchashowpiratesandrobberswork,thataresoinnocent,theycouldonlycomefromachild.Itisastoryfilledwithaction,adventure,ingeniousideas,love,andschoolyardpolitics.Thewholestoryisseeminglyacomplicationofwhatpeopledidorwishtheydidduringtheirchildhood. Thebookisalittledifficulttoreadatfirst.Personally,ittakesmealittlewhiletogetusedtothe19thcenturydialectinthebook.OtherthanreferringtopersonsofAfricandecentinderogatoryterms(whichI'msureusestermsevenyoungchildrenalreadyknow),thebookwouldbeanenjoyablereadforpeopleofallages.Ihighlyrecommendthisbookforanyonelookingtofeelyoungagain,ifjustforafewhundredpages. ThefirstimpressionthattheboyTomgavemewasanaughty,mischievousboy,justaswhatAuntPollysaid.Heneverlackedthecuriositytoexplorenewplaces,
sometimesevenriskinghislife,whichIdidnotdareto!ThereweresomegreatadventuresofhimwithHuckorJoe.Huckwasanorphan,andJoewasTom’sclassmate.EverybodyinthesmallvillageknewTom,mainlyforTom’s—youknowkindofgallantry! Ishouldtellyoutheadventures.TheoriginoftheattemptwasthatTomandHuckwasgettingcurioustotheworldofoutside,andtheymadeanefforttorun-away.However,whentheywereinthegraveyard,somepeopleappeared.TheywereInjunJoe,Huck’sfather,namedPotter,andadoctor.TomandHuckquicklyhidbehindthebush,andtheysawthemdiggingthecoffinsout,probablyfindingsomethingvaluable.Theydidnotrealizethatwhattheywitnessedwasamurder!TomandHuckwereextremelyafraid,andtheyranawayrapidly.Onthecourt,Potterwasbeingaccusedofthemurderer;however,TomdeclaredthatitwasInjunJoewhousedPotter’sknifetokilltheyoungdoctor.Onhearingthis,InjunJoebroketheglassandranaway!Thisscaredeverybody,andTom’sbrother,Sid,saidthathealwaysheardTommumblingsomethingwhenhewasasleep,andsometimesevenshouting.Indeed,the
