Focus of the lesson and predicted area of difficulty ‎1. Get important information by reading and listening;‎ ‎2. Say something about school activities.‎ IV. Teaching procedures A Speak up: Have a nice day!‎ Step 1 Lead-in T: What do you think of our school life? Is it interesting? On Monday afternoon, there is a special lesson about students’ community groups. Let’s go. ‎ ‎1. Free talk Which festival do you like best? Why?‎ ‎2. Enjoy a short video ‎ How much do foreigners know about the Chinese New Year?‎ ‎3. New words ‎ How do Chinese celebrate the Chinese New Year?‎ ‎4. Read the poster and answer some questions ‎ We do lots of interesting things during the Chinese New Year. Do you know how people in Chinatown celebrate the festival? Please open your books, and turn to page 63. Here is a poster to help you. Read it by yourselves and answer some questions. ‎ Questions: (1) What do people do to celebrate the Chinese New Year?‎ ‎ (2) What do they eat?‎ ‎ (3) What can they watch on that day?‎ ‎ (4) When and where do they have the party?‎ ‎5. Listen and fill in the table (Part A1 and A2)‎ ‎ Listen to the host and complete the table. While listening, please pay attention to the time and place. Are you ready?‎ ‎6.
