Some, however, are ‎ a little sillier than others — so much that they seem like joke products. Here are a few products that sound crazy, but actually rule.‎ Sleep Phones It’s hard to imagine something sillier than a music-playing headband you wear while you sleep, but they exist — and are quite popular. Sleep Phones won’t give you the highest quality sound in the world, but if you prefer to fall asleep to music, they’re far more comfortable than normal headphones. While they’re a bit expensive, they might be perfect for you. There’s also a wireless version (版本) if you prefer.‎ Onion Goggles If cutting onion brings on the waterworks no matter what you try, it’s time for desperate measures. We tested a couple of methods for avoiding onion tears, and found the best solutions came down to cutting the onion under a vent (通风孔), or wearing these stylish and wonderful goggles.‎ Lock Laces There’re some great ways to tie your shoes better, but if you long for the laceless ‎ shoes of your childhood days, Lock Laces are a pretty good choice. They’re basically elastic (有弹性的) laces that remove the need to tie your shoes. Sure, people will make fun of you, but you can make fun of them after they trip over their own untied laces. Or you can make your own slip-on shoes with elastic tubing.‎ ‎2D-Glasses Hate 3D-movies, but have to go to one? The difference between 2D-glasses and 3D-glasses lies in their lenses (镜片). Each lens of 2D-glasses blocks the same picture, so each eye gets the same picture, while each lens of 3D-glasses blocks a different picture, so each eye gets a different picture which the brain interprets as 3D. Now you have a pair of glasses that can save you from the headache caused by wearing 3D-glasses which are popular in our movie theaters. You can buy them or make a pair for yourself.‎ ‎21.What do we know about Sleep Phones?‎ A. They give you the best quality sound. B. They’re comfortable but unhealthy.‎ C. There are two versions. D. They’re cheaper than other headphones.‎ ‎22.What is the advantage of Lock Laces?‎ A. They are strong and lasting. B. They help you walk comfortably.‎ C. They are stylish and eco-friendly. D. They save you from tying your shoes.‎ ‎23.Compared with 3D-glasses, 2D-glasses _____.‎ A. are cheaper and thinner B. won’t give you a headache C. let you see a different picture D. are more popular in movie theaters ‎24. This passage is written to ‎ A. introduce B. attract C. persuade D. describe B ‎"BANG!" the door caused a reverberation (回声). It was just standing there, with father standing on one side, and me on the other side.‎ We were both in great anger. "Never set foot in this house again!" stormed father. With tears welling up in my eyes, I rushed out of the flat and ran along the street.‎ The street lights were shining, causing rather sad feelings. I wandered aimlessly. A young father who held a child in his arms walked past me. I felt as if I saw my childhood from another space: happy and carefree.‎ But now … I don’t know whether it is because I have grown up or because dad is getting old. We differ in our ways of thinking. We are just like two people coming from two different worlds. It feels like there is an iron door between us that can never be opened.‎ I wandered the streets, without a destination in mind. My heart was frozen on this hot summer night. As I walked on, there were fewer and fewer people on the streets, until I had only the street lights to keep me company. When I finally reached the high-rise apartment block in which I lived, I saw that the light was still on. I ‎ thought to myself: "Is father waiting for me, or is he still angry with me?"In fact, it was nothing. Perhaps, dad was throwing away some of his old stamps. Perhaps he thought they were useless. I never had the courage to tell him that I liked collecting stamps.‎ All the lights were off except father’s.‎ Dad was always like this. Maybe he didn’t know how to express himself. After shouting at me, he never showed any mercy or any moments of regret. This was how he always was. He has been a leader for so long that telling everyone else what to do has become his second nature.‎ The light was still on. "Am I wrong" I whispered, maybe… With the key in my hand, I was as nervous as I had ever been. At last, I decided to open the door. As soon as I opened the door, tears ran down my cheeks. I suddenly realized that the iron door that I had imagined between us did not exist at all. Love—it’s second to none.‎ ‎25.Which of the following statements is TRUE according to the passage ?‎ A. The author fully understood why he and his father had different thinking.‎ B. The author and his father lacked communication.‎ C. The author’s father was not in favor of his stamp collecting.‎ D. The author’s father opened the door for him when he came back.‎ ‎26.According to the author, why did his father often shout at him ?‎ A. Perhaps the father was getting older and older.‎ B. Perhaps they never agreed with each other.‎ C. Perhaps the son had already grown up.‎ D. Perhaps the father had been used to doing that.‎ ‎27.What was the author’s attitude towards his father at the end of the story?‎ A. He was frustrated with his father. B. He loved his father.‎ C. He was afraid of his father. D. He was dissatisfied with his father.‎ C A popular saying goes, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” However, that’s not really true. Words have the power to build us up or tear us down. It doesn’t matter if the words come from someone else or ourselves — the positive and negative effects are just as lasting.‎ We all talk to ourselves sometimes. We’re usually too embarrassed to admit it, though. In fact, we really shouldn’t be because more and more experts believe talking to ourselves out loud is a healthy habit.‎ This “self-talk” helps us motivate ourselves, remember things, solve problems, and calm ourselves down. Be aware, though, that as much as 77% of self-talk tends to be negative. So in order to stay positive, we should only speak words of encouragement to ourselves. We should also be quick to give ourselves a pat on the back. The next time you finish a project, do well in a test, or finally clean your room, join me in saying “Good job!”‎ Often, words come out of our mouths without thinking about the effect they will have. But we should know that our words cause certain responses in others. For example, when returning an item to a store, we might use warm, friendly language during the exchange. And the clerk will probably respond in a similar manner. Or harsh (刻薄的) and critical language will most likely cause the clerk to be defensive.‎ Words possess power because of their lasting effects. Many of us regret something we once said. And we remember unkind words said to us! Before speaking, we should always ask ourselves: Is it true? Is it loving? Is it needed? If what we want to say doesn’t pass this test, then it’s better left unsaid.‎ Words possess power: both positive and negative. Those around us receive encouragement when we speak positively. We can offer hope, build self-esteem (自尊) and motivate others to do their best. Negative words destroy all those things. Will we use our words to hurt or to heal? The choice is ours.‎ ‎28.There is no need for us to feel embarrassed when we talk to ourselves because ________.‎ A. we can benefit from talking to ourselves B. talking to ourselves always gives us courage C. almost everybody has the habit of talking to themselves D. it does no harm to have “self-talk” when we are alone ‎29.The underlined part in the third paragraph means that we should also timely ________.‎ A. remind ourselves B. praise ourselves C. make ourselves relaxed D. give ourselves amusement ‎30.The author would probably hold the view that ________.‎ A. encouraging words are sure to lead to kind offers B. negative words may motivate us to make more progress C. people tend to remember friendly words D. it is better to think twice before talking to others ‎31.In which column of the newspaper can you most likely read this passage?‎ A. Health. B. Advertisement. C. Language. D. News.‎ D ‎ Many animals recognize their food because they see it.So do humans. When you see an apple or a piece of chocolate, you know that these are things you can eat.You can also use other senses when you choose your food. You may like it because it smells good or because it tastes good. You may dislike some types of food because they do not look, smell or taste very nice.Different animals use different senses to find and choose their food.A few animals depend on only one of their senses, while most animals use more ‎ than one sense.‎ Although there are many different types of food, some animals spend their lives eating only one type. The giant panda eats only one particular type of bamboo.Other animals eat only one type of food even when given the choice.A kind of white butterfly will stay on the leaves of a cabbage, even though there are plenty of other vegetables in the garden. However, most animals have a more varied diet(多样化饮食).The bear eats fruits and fish. The fox eats small animals, birds and fruits. The diet of these animals will he different depending on the season.‎ Humans have a very varied diet.We often eat food because we like it and not because it is good for us.In countries such as France and Britain.people eat foods with too much sugar. This makes them overweight, which is bad for their health.Eating too much red meat and animal products, such as butter, can also be bad for the health.Choosing the right food, therefore, has become an area of study in modem life.‎ ‎32.We can infer from the text that humans and animals .‎ A.eat entirely different food B.are not satisfied with their food C.choose food in similar ways D.depend on one sense in choosing food ‎33.Which of the following eats only one type of food?‎ A.The white butterfly B.The small bird C.The bear D.The fox ‎34.Certain animals change their choice of food when ‎ A.they are attracted by different smells B.the food color changes C.they move to different places D.the season changes ‎35. The second paragragh is developed by _______________‎ ‎ A. giving descriptions B. making comparison ‎ C. giving examples D. listing numbers ‎ 第二节:(共5小题,每题2分,满分10分)‎ 根据短文内容, 从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。‎ Question: Why is it so hard for some people to apologize after they’ve done something wrong? I have made efforts to persuade my uncle to be nice to people that he’s hurt. 36 How I wish things would be better if he’d just say he’s sorry and ask them to forgive him. ‎ Answer: 37 It’s just easier for him to pretend nothing happened than to face the embarrassment of admitting he was wrong. You’ve probably done the same thing yourself at some time. In fact, most of us have. Furthermore, what if others won’t forgive him even if he apologizes?‎ ‎ 38 Pride blinds us to our mistakes or faults(缺点). Or at least it makes us pay less attention to their seriousness. Pride also makes us unwilling to admit to others that we were wrong. Perhaps we’re afraid they will look down on us if we admit it. 39 But others see through our pride. And things would be far better if we admitted our faults and asked for forgiveness. 40 ‎ ‎ Now you know why your uncle refuses to apologize, talk to him again. Help him to learn how to apologize and ask for forgiveness from others.‎ A. One reason your uncle finds it hard to apologize could be embarrassment.‎ B. But a deeper reason is pride.‎ C. But he just refuses to do that.‎ D. We may even hope that somehow they will overlook (忽视) it.‎ E. As a result, you would upset others and hurt their feelings. ‎ F. There are a variety of reasons for your uncle’s refusal to apologize.‎ G. Otherwise our pride would only hurt us and cause conflict (冲突) with others.‎ 第三部分 英语知识运用 第一节 完形填空(共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)‎ ‎ A thief dropped a winning lottery ticket (彩票) at the scene of his crime, but he has been given a lesson in ____41_____ .The man whom he robbed (抢劫) _____42____ the ticket and won the $25,000 prize, but he managed to find the thief, and handed over the ____43_____.‎ ‎ The robbery happened when Professor Sabbatucci was changing a tyre (轮胎) on a highway.
