I’m Lucy. I’m going to be a
vet when I grow up. A vet is a
doctor for animals. I love animals,
and I want to look after them.
I'm Tim. When I grow up
I’m going to be a pilot. A pilot
flies planes. I love flying, and I
want to fly in the sky.
I’m Bob. My dad is a
dentist. He looks after people’s
teeth. But I’m not going to be a
dentist when I grow up. I’m
going to be a cook. I love food. I
want to make delicious food.
I’m Candy. I’m going to be a
teacher when I grow up. I really
like my teacher, Miss Miller. I want
to be a teacher, too. I want to teach

1、 知识目标:
1) 学生在创设的情境和老师的引导下学习、理解课文,会读新单词:pilot,
dentist, vet, delicious,能理解 grow up, look after 的意思。
2) 学生能综合运用已知句型表达自己的职业理想,并对职业进行比较,简单发
表看法。
2、情感目标:
1) 让学生在学习交流中相互合作,获得自信和成就感。
2) 通过本课的学习, 树立学生的职业理想,理解工作对我们生活的意义。
3、能力目标:
1) 在课堂创设的各项任务、活动中, 提高学生综合运用各种已知句型进行英语
表达的能力以及听说读写的能力。
2) 通过教师的指导与训练,培养学生掌握英语阅读的学习策略:略读(整体感
知)—精读(了解大意)—细读(掌握细节)。
3) 培养学生在预设情境中猜词的能力。

Step One: Warmer
I. Greetings.

2. Free talk. T: What jobs do you know?
3. A guessing game:
T: I have some friends. What do they do? Listen and
guess!
1) She likes reading and writing. She writes many books.
2) He works at the hospital. He helps sick people.
3) She is beautiful. She is good at dancing.
4) He is very tall. He can play basketball very well.
4. Show them some photos of Yao Ming.
T: Let me show you a photo of a basketball player. Guess!
Who is he? Yes. He is Yao Ming. When he was a little boy, he
had a dream:’When I grow up, I’m going to be a basketball
player.’

5. Show them the four children from the text on screen.
T: Everybody has a dream for the future. These children
are talking about their dreams. Let’s look and listen.
Step Two: Presentation
I. While-reading:
1. First-reading.
Look and listen to the text. Then answer: Who are they?
2. Second-reading.
1) Read the text quickly by themselves and underline the
new words.
2) Ask some kids to write the new words on the
blackboard. Learn to say these new words: a vet, a pilot, a
dentist, delicious,etc
3) Read the text again and find out the definitions of the
new words from the text.
