There are a growing number of pet owners who feed their pets on raw, which means “uncooked” meat and bones. William Burk, a pet food specialist from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), believes that feeding raw meat to pets is against its goal of protecting the public from health dangers, and that raw meat and bones do not have all the required nutrition that a pet needs every day.
Recognizing how popular these foods are, the FDA has provided guidelines for producers of pet foods which contain uncooked meat for dogs, cats and other pets. The guidelines give rules to protect pet owners and pet from dangers about food safety and lack of nutrition.
Pet owners who feed raw meat and bones to their pets should deal with these products very carefully to protect themselves against possible dangers, says Burk. Just as when you are preparing foods for human beings, use hot water and soap to wash your hands, containers, and surfaces that come into contact with the food. Don’t put you hands near your mouth until you have washed them, and don’t allow your pet to touch your face right after it has eaten raw meat.
“If pet owners choose to feed bones to their pets, they should watch their pets carefully when they are eating bones,” Burk says. “If a pet eats a big piece of bone that won’t pass through its digestive system(消化系统), it is likely to kill the pet.”
28. What does William Burk think of feeding pets on raw meat?
   A. It’ll make the pet owners sick.
   B. It’ll keep the pets’ wild nature.
   C. It’s against the policy of the FDA.
   D. It’s dangerous and lack of nutrition.

As a star computer scientist, Cristina Fonseca had lots of job offers, but she turned them all down. She decided to start her our business Talkdesk. She lives in Portugal but does business all over the globe by using software.
The global economy works well for such people.
But the world of work has been less kind to other young folks. Florence Moreau, a young architect in Paris, had the double misfortune to leave university in 2009, when the world economy was on its knees; and to be French. “I really need a full-time, permanent job,” she says. Under France’s 3,800-page labor code, workers on permanent contracts receive generous benefits and are extremely hard to get rid of. So French firms have all but stopped hiring permanent staff: four-fifths of new employees are on short-term contracts. Ms Moreau has had eight jobs, none lasting for longer than 16 months. With a small child at home, she has to keep looking for the next one. “It’s tiring,” she sighs.
Joblessness matters. The longer people are out of work, the more their skills and their self-confidence atrophy, the less appealing they look to potential employers and the more likely they are to give up.
Trade unions often favor a minimum wage. This can help those who already have jobs, but if it is set too high it can crowd out those with the fewest skills and the least experience, who tend to be young.
A labor system where companies can hire and fire easily is urgently needed.
Making it easier for young people to start their own business is essential, too. They may be full of energy and open to new ideas.
Also, there is a huge mismatch everywhere between the skills that many young people can offer and the ones that employers need. Ms Fonseca says she cannot find the right talent for Talkdesk. As economies grow more complex, demand for practical skills will keep rising. The world’s schools are not even close to meeting it.
32. What can we learn about Cristina Fonseca?
   A. She does business only in Portugal.
   B. She can’t find the talents she wants.
   C. Her company is not related to information technology.
   D. When seeking a job, she was refused many times by employers.
33. What does the underlined word “ atrophy” mean?
   A. Shrink.    B. Increase.    C. Overcome.     D. Survive.
34. Why can’t Moreau find a permanent job?
   A. The world economy is booming.
   B. She didn’t finish university studies.
   C. Employers don’t want to give workers good welfare.
   D. The French government hasn’t taken any measures for unemployment.
35. Which measure is actually useless for unemployment?
   A. Raise the minimum wage.
   B. Train students to gain skills.
   C. Make labor rules more flexible.
   D. Encourage young people to start companies.

    根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Practical Ways to Get Motivated
Be mindful of your “why”
If I need to clean the floor, but I really don’t like cleaning, then I won’t feel very motivated to do it. However, if I have a big enough reason to do it---because I’m having some guests to come over, or I love the feeling of having a clean floor, then that “bigger purpose” can be strong enough to get me to act, even though I don’t enjoy cleaning. If I stay mindful of why I’m doing it, I can get motivated to do it.___36____
Celebrate your successes.
It’s easy to get down on yourself because you haven’t reached your goal yet. You may overlook all of the hard work and small goals that you’ve accomplished. Remember to reward yourself and to celebrate your successes.____37___ In the same way, how can you motivate yourself if you’re not going to reward yourself and celebrate your successes?
____38____
Imagine how good you’ll feel when you’ve reached your goal. Take a moment and think about how you’ll feel and what you’ll think after you’ve achieved it. What does it feel like?___39___Focus on that feeling, and use it to drive you right now to move toward your goal. Just think of how good it will be.
Get inspired.
Read stories, watch movies, listen to other people who have achieved what you want to achieve. Imagine what they had to go through to get to where they are. Imagine how big the heart is of some of your biggest heroes and how badly they wanted what they achieved._____40_____
A. Imagine having already achieved it.
B. Get help and support when you’re not feeling motivated.
C. Let them inspire you to access your own great desire within.
D. What kind of self-talk would you use to motivate yourself?
E. So remind yourself of why you’re doing what you’re doing.
F. You might feel proud, happy, satisfied, or any other emotion.
G. Would you be able to properly train a dog without rewarding him?
