Whether it is Mozart or Miley，your choice of music could determine whether you will perform well at your work.
A new study suggests that listening to music in the office improves the speed and accuracy of tasks such as data entry，proofreading and problemsolving.
In an officebased experiment,88 per cent of participants were found to produce their most accurate work when listening to music.
The study also found that 81 per cent completed their fastest work when music was
played.
And it matters what type of music you listen to. For instance，if you're doing your tax returns，then classical music is the most effective as it improves maths skills.
Listening to Jessie J or Justin Bieber could also improve your speed，with 58 per cent of participants completing data entry tasks faster while listening to pop songs.
During proofreading，dance music，such as David Guetta's，had the biggest positive impact on participants increasing their speed by 20 per cent compared to tests undertaken with no music at all.
Dance music also had a positive effect on spellchecking with a 75 per cent pass rate compared to 68 per cent when no music was played at all.
The research，undertaken by Brightonbased Mindlab International，suggests that silent offices may be the least productive.
“The music experiment showed that when listening to music，nine out of ten people performed better，”said Dr.David Lewis，chairman of Mindlab International.
“Proper music enables people to quickly process and keep information，regulate their behavior，make good choices，solve problems，plan and adjust to changing mental demands，”a senior investigator of Mindlab International explained.
“While many schools are cutting music programs and spending more and more time on test preparations，our findings suggest that musical training courses may actually help to set up children for a better academic future，”added Dr.David Lewis.

Christmas in the United States is traditionally a time of giftgiving and family gatherings.But small towns across the country have their own traditions.
Middleburg，a small town in the state of Virginia，is known for its horses. For more than 50 years，Middleburg has organized a yearly Christmas parade(游行)．Men and women ride horses through the woods and fields. They follow hunting dogs as they search for a wild fox. The new highspeed railway line between Urumqi，capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Selfgoverning Region，and Lanzhou，capital of Gansu Province，has cut train travel time by half to less than 12 hours.
The dramatic improvement will benefit many families planning reunions for Spring Festival.
“For the first time，I feel home is not that far away after all，”said Liang Shaofu as he boarded a highspeed train in Urumqi with six members of his family.
The 35yearold left Lanzhou to set up a dry fruit business in Xinjiang eight years ago，and he has now settled in Urumqi.
The 1,776km line，which passes through Qinghai Province and is the country's first highspeed railway to be built in a highaltitude region，came into service on Dec.26.
“We normally drive home for Spring Festival to avoid the difficulties of buying seven train tickets for the whole family during the peak season，”Liang said.“Driving can be very tiring and dangerous sometimes，so one year we even decided not to go back to Lanzhou simply to avoid the trip.”
More than 600,000 passengers traveled on the line during its first month，and the Urumqi Railway Bureau said the introduction of highspeed services will ease transport pressure during the Spring Festival peak season.
The existing usual railway line could no longer support Xinjiang's development.All passenger trains will gradually shift to the new link，leaving the old one to be used for goods.As a result，Xinjiang's annual goods ability could reach 200 million metric tons from the current 70 million.
The line passes through areas that experience high winds，and it also crosses parts of the deserted QinghaiTibet Plateau and the bonedry sands of the Gobi Desert.
