I love listening to music and try to do it as much as I can. 16 I'm driving my car or walking on the street, I always have a CD or my iPod playing. Music can greatly influence (影响) my feelings. It can 17 me up or remind (使想起) me about a certain place.
I think nothing is better than listening to live (现场演出的) music! I love going to 18 to watch and hear my favourite singers perform (演出). The last concert I went to was a big pop concert. The singers spent a long time preparing for it, so it was 19 . Lots of people got together at the concert. And I could easily talk to people sitting 20 me although we didn't know each other. I could always find 21 new and different at a concert.
I hope everyone can go to a concert, at least once, to 22 their favourite music in a new and interesting way. Seeing something live helps me 23 how much effort (努力) has gone into the music, and it 24 encourages me to work harder. Also, it is a great 25 to make friends.

Dear Editor (编辑),
My brother and I argue (争吵) all the time. It seems that we will argue forever because I don't know how to stop it. What should I do?
Next time you feel a fight coming, try your best to stop it. Say to yourself: I am not fighting with him. Then think about a better way to solve the problem. Remember if you don't fight with him, he can't fight with you.
I have a friend who hugs me too much. I've tried to stop him, but he just doesn't listen.
Some people are more “huggy” than others, and your friend is one of those people. Try to tell him that you don't want to hug so often. I'm sure he will understand you if you are really good friends.
When I get home from school, I am all alone. My parents don't know, but I'm sad. Should I tell them?
You should tell your parents how you feel. Talk with them about how to solve the problem. Whatever you do, don't keep your feelings to yourself.
When my friends are talking, I always listen. But when I try to talk, no one listens to me.
Your friends probably aren't ignoring (忽视) you — they just don't notice that you want to say something. Make it easy for them by saying something funny or unusual at first. When they notice that you always say something interesting, they will start to listen to you.

My name is Kevin. My friends and I went to Amsterdam last summer for a week. We finished our holiday jobs, and we thought we should have a break. We went there by plane.
None of us knew the place, so it was a bit of an adventure (冒险). And we got completely lost one day. My friend Dave almost fell into a river when we were crossing a bridge. But we finally found the Van Gogh Museum, and we had to wait for two hours there. There were so many people there! While we were waiting there, I met an old friend from school. The world's a small place!
We stayed in a travellers' hotel, and met some friendly Italians. The hotel was cheap and clean, and we had to be very tidy. For food, we usually ate in fast food restaurants. But on my birthday, we had a special big meal at an Indonesian restaurant.
It's easy to get around the city. A lot of tourists like to rent (租用) bikes, but while we were there, we went by bus. We got our tickets from a machine, not from the driver. When we were going to the Vondelpark on Friday, two boys didn't buy any tickets, and an inspector caught them. They explained that they were foreigners, but the man didn't accept that.

Many students think that memorising (记忆) is the worst part of preparing for a test. (41)________ If you've taken clear notes and joined class discussions (讨论), you've been doing some memory work.

(42)________ Memorise what you need to know little by little and do it no more than fifteen minutes each time a few days before a test. It will help you feel relaxed when you try to memorise something. And remember to start the memory work when your mind is fresh.
Try to understand what you want to memorise. (43)________ If you can't understand your teacher's explanation, try to get someone to explain the information in a new way. Or you can rewrite the information in an easier way to help you understand it.
Write down or speak out loud what you want to memorise. (44)________ Also, if you have many things to memorise, memorise the first one, then the second. Repeat those two ones, and then add (添加) the third one.
(45)________ Use a phone to record what you have memorised, and then check it against the textbook. If possible, invite someone to be your listener and help you find out if there is something wrong.
