Warming up Talk about clothes. ‎ T: Hello, boys and girls. Nice to see you again, I like shopping very much. Do you like shopping? Now come with me to the clothes shop.‎ Show students a picture of a clothes shop.‎ T: Do you like the clothes in the shop?‎ S: Yes, we do.‎ T: Can you name these clothes in English?‎ Show a picture of a coat.‎ T: What’s this in English? They are asking about prices. While-listening activities 1. Listen and find the general idea.‎ Look at the numbers in the box in 1a on page 44. Listen to the recording and repeat one by one. Please pay more attention to the pronunciation of twenty and thirty. They are often pronounced differently than they are spelled. The word twenty is often pronounced twenny. The second “t” disappears. This is especially true when the twenty is followed by another number as in twenty-one. Also, the second “t” in the word thirty often sounds like a “d”. Most native speakers of English sounded like they’re saying thirdy instead of thirty.‎ Tapescript ‎10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31‎ 2. Writing the numbers 6‎ Just now we listened to the numbers from ten to thirty-one.‎ Now please match the numerals and number words individually and find out which rows are in the wrong order.‎ Check the answer: The second row and the fourth row are in the wrong place.‎ ‎2a Listening and circling ‎ Now we are going to hear a conversation between a mother and her daughter. They are talking about buying clothes. Listen carefully and circle the numbers you hear the mother and the daughter say. Listening and circling ‎ Let’s listen to the conversation again.
