I. 语法自学
一.表语从句
表语从句是在复合句中作表语的名词性从句。放在系动词之后,一般结构是“主语+系动词+表语从句”。
(一)可以接表语从句的系动词有:
1. be(am,is,are,was,were) 2. feel , seem , look, appear ,sound, taste , smell
3. stand , lie , remain ,keep, stay 4. become ,get , grow , turn ,go ,come, run, fall
5. prove, turn out
(二)引导表语从句的连接词:
连接词:that / whether /as if /as though连接代词:who / whom / whose / which / what 连接副词:when / where / why / how / because
(三)表语从句常见考点
1. that引导的表语从句,只起到连接作用,但不能省略。
e.g. The trouble is that he has lost the key to the house.
2. 用suggestion等词表示愿望、建议、命令等情绪时,用虚拟语气,从句中should(可省略)。常见的词有:advice,suggestion,order,proposal,request, plan,idea等。如:
My suggestion is that we (should) start early tomorrow.
3.在as if, as though 等引导表语从句中,表示与事实相一致时,要用陈述语气。

reason 做主语时,表语从句只能用that引导, 不能用why 引导。句型结构为:
The reason (why…/for…)is /was that….
二.宾语从句
(一) 概念
作宾语的句子就是宾语从句。它在句中作及物动词、介词或形容词的宾语。
如: I don’t know why he was late this morning.
(二)连接词1.连接词 that, whether , if 2.连接代词what, which, who, whom, whose 3.连接副词 when, where, how, why
(三)宾语从句常见考点
1.连接词只起连接作用,没有实际意义,常常省略;连接代词、副词,连接主句和从句,并在从句中担任句子成分,具有一定的意义。
eg: I didn’t hear ____he wanted me to do.
2.if/ whether “是否”
Could you tell me if (whether) Miss Brown lives in that house?
3. 语序:陈述句语序 即:主句+连接词+从句(主+谓+其他成分)
Do you still remember ________________________(他说的什么)?
4. 时态:主句用现在时或将来时,从句可用任何时态。主句用过去时,从句用与过去相关的时态。
【注】:1.从句说明的是一般真理、客观事实、自然现象、名言时,用现在时。
Dad told us that it is better to do than to say.
2.从句中有具体时间状语,即使从句动作发生在主句动作前,仍然用一般过去时。The teacher told me she was born in 1960.
(四) 宾语从句注意事项
1.当从句的原句为以下句子以及what, who作主语时,语序不变:
What’s wrong? What’s the matter? What’s happening?
2.只能用whether不能用if的情况
1)在介词后面:We didn’t think about whether it would rain the next day.
2)在动词不定式前:They asked me whether to sit at the front.
3)当与or not连用,或提出两种选择 时:
Mary asked whether I was doing my homework or not.
4)在动词discuss后的宾语从句中:
We discussed whether we would have a sports meeting next week.
5)引导表语从句或位于句首的主语从句用whether:
Whether he is right or wrong is a question.
3.用if不用whether的情况:引导条件状语从句,if意为“如果”时:
We’ll go hiking if it doesn’t rain tomorrow.
