Step 2 Presentation
1. New words and expressions
(1) Present “get up”, “go to school”, “take” and “from … to …”.
T: Just now, we talked about five questions, and we’ve got some new
words from them.
(2) Present “only”. “reading room”, “all kinds of”, “borrow…from…”.
T: More new words are waiting for us. Let me introduce the reading room to
you.
There is only a reading room in the library. (only; reading room)

We can borrow books from the library. (borrow…from…)

(3) Read new words after the teacher.
1. A guessing game
T: Let’s play a guessing game. Can you guess:
How do I get to school every day?
How long does it take me to get to school?
2. Present how to express the ways to go to school
How do you get to school?
I get to school on foot = I walk to school (go to sp. on foot = walk to sp.)
I go to school by bike. = I ride to school. (go to sp. by bike = ride to sp.)
I go to school by bus.=I take a bus to school. (go to sp. by bus = take a bus to sp.)
I go to school by car. = I go to school in my father’s/mother’s car.= I go to school
in my father’s/mother’s car, (by car = in one’s car)
4. Make up a dialogue
A: How do you get to school?
B: I get to school on foot/by bike/by bus…

B: It takes me only ten minutes/half an hour…
5. Listen to the conversation between Millie, Amy and Sandy
(1) Listen to the conversation and match.
(2) Listen to the conversation again and finish the table.
(3) Listen to the conversation once again and finish the passage.
