At the age of two, Joseph's cholesterol (胆固醇) was 213-well above the normal number of 170. "I was scared," his mother, Virginia Idrogo, remembers, "because he was just a baby at that time." Joseph is nine now, and though he has been exercising a lot, his cholesterol has reached 315.
"It could make me sick or kill me. " Joseph worries. Joseph is one of the millions of children in the US with high cholesterol. Even more are overweight and at high risk（危险） of heart disease (心脏病).
"We need to realize that our children are at risk at a very young age," explains Dr. Laurence Sperling. "They aren't necessarily going to have heart disease when they are ten years old, but we know through studies of young children that cholesterol starts building up in the arteries (动脉）from a very early age in America."
For most children, the first way to prevent this is diet and exercise, but, just like Joseph, that doesn't always work. "Some children's cholesterol will fall by 20% by changing their way of life or habits, such as diet and exercise." explains Dr. John Stevens. "Some have no change because their problems are genetic(遗传的). "
Joseph's problem is genetic, but his mother still wants to save him through medicine.
"I think we should be telling people to think about their children and their health and try to

Dear Disney,
Last weekend, the four members of my family spent an enjoyable holiday at the Magic Kingdom -Disneyland. And one event made our visit seem truly magical.
We got to the front of the line at Space Mountain, only to find out that our little daughter Gloria couldn't take her ice-cream on the ride. We were so excited that we all forgot ice-cream was not allowed on the ride.
