There are plenty of creams etc. on the market that help you look younger, but today, Dr Oz is going to show how some people are actually living longer.
“we are going to talk about extreme life extension,” he says. “I am talking in details about allowing us to go into our second century of life with the energy that you have when you are a young person.”
Owing to advances in technology and research on how diet affects the aging process, Dr Oz says it might be possible for some people to live to see their 120th birthday.
There’s one man in Oprah’s audience who Dr Oz says may become the first man in history to live to be 150 years old. Joe Cordell is one of thousands around the world who believe they have found the key to an extreme long life--- calorie restriction leads to a longer, healthier life.
At 59 Joe weghs 130 pounds. He may not look like a person whos needs to count calories, but as part of his life extension progrm, he inspects every mouthful of food that passes through his system.
Every day for the past seven years, Joe has limited himself to about 1950 calories.
He believes that by eating less and restricting his calorie intake, he will trigger a genetic switch that slows the aging process.
Joe does not remove food from his diet. Instead, the then 52-year-old father fills up on natural fruits, vegetables and lean proteins that are packed with necessary vitamins and nutrients. “ whenever you are thinking about calorie restriction, you should continually think about getting the most nutritional amout per carorie,”joe says.
In keeping with this principle, Joe starts every morning with three apples… but he only eats the peels. “most of the fiber is in the peel, and more importantly, most of the nutrients are in the peel” he says.
“it is important to eat some nuts with breakfast so that you do take in some fat, some healthy fats,I or fish and more vegetables” he says
For lunch, Joe usually eats a large salad, loaded with vegetables. At dinnertime, he and his

When joe started practicing calorie restriction, he weighed 175 pounds. Since then, he has lost 45 pounds, and he says he hasn’t had a cold in seven years. Though he is in his “golden years”, researcheers studying Joe say he has the body of a 20-year-old athlete

Researchers are confident that technology will soon be able to track every waking moment of your life．Whatever you see and hear, all that you say and write, can be recorded, analyzed and added to your personal chronicles （履历）.By the 2030, it may be possible to catch your nervous （神经） systems through electrical activities, which would also keep your thoughts and emotions．
Researchers at the laboratories of British Telecommunications have given the name of this idea as Soul Catcher．Small electronic equipment will make preparation for Soul Catcher．It would use a wearable supercomputer, perhaps in a wristwatch, with wireless links to micro sensors under your scalp （头皮） and in the nerves that carry all five sensory signals．So wearing a video camera would no longer be required．
At first, the Soul Catcher's companion system —the Soul Reader —might have trouble copying your thoughts in complete details．Even in 2030, we may still be struggling to understand how the brain is working inside, so reading your thoughts and understanding your emotions might not be possible．But these signals could be kept for the day when they can be transferred to silicon circuits to revitalize minds everlasting entities （永生实体）.Researchers can only wonder what it will be like to wake up one day and find yourself alive inside a machine．

One day, a poor boy who was trying to pay his way through school by selling goods door to door found that he only had one dime （一角钱） left．He was hungry so he decided to beg for a meal at the next house．
However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door．Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water．She thought he looked hungry so she brought him a large glass of milk．He drank it slowly, and then asked, "How much do I owe you?"
"You don't owe me anything," she replied．"Mother has taught me never to accept pay for a kindness．" He said, "Then I thank you from the bottom of my heart．" As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but it also increased his faith in God and the human race．He was about to give up and quit before this point．
Years later the young woman became badly ill．The local doctors were baffled （束手无策）． They finally sent her to the big city, where specialists can be called in to study her rare disease．Dr． Howard Kelly, now famous was called in for the consultation．When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes．Immediately, he rose and went down through the hospital hall into her room．
Dressed in his doctor's gown, he went in to see her．He recognized her at once．He went back to the consultation room and determined to do his best to save her life．From that day on, he gave special attention to her case．
