Olav Brutolsen was the most terrible of all the Vikings . With just his bare hands he could defeat a bull in a matter of seconds . To make sure people knew just who he was , his helmet and cloak（斗篷）were decorated with his victory souvenirs . On his helmet were over a hundred horns , and on his cloak were a thousand precious stones ; one stone for each enemy he had defeated .
In his city everyone would make way for him as he went by , but one day a young man who was absent-mindedly reading as he walked , bumped into Olav . Olav was furious . He scolded the young man and challenged him to a fight to the death . The skinny young man had no choice ; all he could do was accept on one condition :
“ I can’t see very well , and i don’t know you , so I’ll need you keep your helmet and cloak on during the fight so i can make you out . ”
Olav laughed a hearty laugh and accepted the young man’s stupid condition , before launching himself at the youth . The boy was swift , and he only just managed to slip through Olav’s hands . The same happened each time Olav attacked , and as the fight went on it became easier for the young man to evade the attacks . Although no one could believe how the boy did it , they all expected him to fall down dead as soon as Olav landed the first blow .
But that blow never came . Olav had been attacking for more than five minutes , and after ten minutes he fell to the ground , as if dead .
Many onlookers thought the young man must be some kind of wizard , but the boy , who was a medical student by the name of Virtensen , had demonstrated to everyone how Olav’s pride had been enough to make him fall under the weight of his helmet and cloak . When Olav came to , like a good warrior he accepted his defeat . From that day he got rid of the useless souvenirs on his helmet and cloak , and returned to simple clothing . Now wherever he walked he was just like anyone else . Everywhere , that is , except for when he walked on the battlefield , where he came to be recognized not for his many horns or his bejeweled cloak , but for his unparalleled force .

The Big Brother in the novel 1984 listens to everything and nothing can escape his ears . Now in reality , we have Facebook . The social media giant has never denied that it’s keeping track of conversations you have near your phone ( if the Facebook app is open , that is ) , but not , one expert has told NBC that Mark Zuckerberg’s empire may be keeping ears on you at a more regular basis . According to Professor Kelli Burns , who teaches mass communication at the University of South Florida , it may be listening more often than it lets on .
To prove her point , Burns turned on the microphone feature on her phone , and said , “ I’m really interested in going on an African journey . I think it’d be wonderful to ride in one of those jeeps . ” Less than a minute later , when she checked her Facebook page , she was met by a story about a journey – the first post on her newsfeed . There was also a car ad on her page .
While Facebook says that it’s only keeping its ears open to help “ identify the music you’re listening to and TV matches you’re watching , ” Burns’ little experiment suggests that there may be other motivations at play as well . But the social media company has denied claims that it records any conversations , and told The Independent , “ Facebook does not use microphone audio to inform advertising or News Feed stories in any way . Businesses are able to serve related ads based on people’s interests and other statistic information , but not through audio collection . ”
Whether you believe this statement or not , there are ways to stop Facebook from listening in at all . Simply turn off your phone’s microphone by heading over into Settings ( if you’re an iPhone user ) , going to the Privacy tab , then clicking on Microphone . From there , you can remove Facebook’s mic privileges , and probably , stop the company from hearing your conversations . On Android , you can also go to Privacy under the Settings tab , and change Facebook’s permissions .
So the next time you’re chatting with your friends about your summer vacation plans , keep an eye on your Facebook feed . There may be more participants in your conversation than you realize .

A gunman opened fire in Orlando’s Pulse nightclub early morning Sunday , killing approximately 50 people and injuring another 53 .
Clubbers were enjoying an evening at Pulse , which describes itself as “ the hottest gay bar in Orlando , ” when shots started to go off around 2 am. A hostage（人质）situation occurred , and didn’t end until authorities used a vehicle armed to teeth to break down the door of the building and kill the gunman at around 5 am .
Sunday morning’s attack surpasses the shootings at Virginia Tech in 2007 and Sndy Hook Elementary School in 2012 to become the worst mass shooting in US history .
Authorities have identified the shooter as 29-year-old Omar Saddiqui Mateen from Fort Pierce , about 120 miles southeast of Orlando . CNN reports Mr. Mateen was previously trained as a security guard .
The federal government and FBI “ have suggestions the individual has leanings towards Islamic terrorism , but right now we can’t say definitely , ” says Ron Hopper , assistant special agent of FBI’s Orlando bureau . But Mateen’s connection to Islamic terrorism has not been proven , leading authorities to also investigate the shooting as a possible hate crime against the LGBT community .
The Orlando blood donation facility tweeted（推送）that the bank was in “ urgent need ” of donations Sunday morning following the shooting . But within hours , they announced their bank was at capacity due to the long lines of volunteers who showed up to donate .
However , after the initial tweet at 10:40 Sunday morning , criticisms of the United States’ stand on blood donation by the LGBT community resurfaced on social media from those who wanted to help but were prohibited due to their sexuality .
