For a long time, I had a firm faith that my suffering came from my size. I thought that when the weight disappeared, it would take old wounds, hurts, and rejections with it.
Many weight-conscious people also mistakenly believe that changing their body will fix everything. Perhaps their worst mistake is believing that being thin equals being loved, being special, and being cherished. We imagine what it will be like when we reach the long-awaited goal. Companion robots are becoming more and more important in offering help to busy people looking after the elderly and children. With an aging population and an increasing labor shortage, the demand for companion robots for elder care and children’s companions is on the rise.
Xiaoyuzaijia is an intelligent companion robot produced by Zaijia.com, a Beijing-based startup engaged in internet hardware and intelligent home appliances businesses.

One day, when I was about twelve, my family and I were headed to a restaurant for lunch.As my dad parked the car, my mom and I headed towards the restaurant, when a woman and a little girl about my age came up to us. They asked if we had any spare change. My mom immediately asked them where they were living. They pointed to an old car in another parking lot across the street. The girl said there were six of them living in that car. I couldn’t believe it –that was the same size as my own family, but all living in a car !My dad came over and handed them a few dollars.We said good-bye and continued toward the restaurant. Then my mom said she had just remembered that she had something to do, so she sent us inside the restaurant and left in the car.
Later, I found out that she had gone home and practically emptied our cupboards into a few bags. Then she brought that food over to the car and handed the bags to the family. I wasn’t there, but I can imagine the joy on their faces. It was my mom’s actions that taught me to always try my best to help people who are in trouble and try to make them as happy as I am.
