Some children's books can feel timeless, and so there is a certain kind of poetic justice when their authors live long lives. Think Maurice Sendak, author of Where the Wild Things Are, who died at age 84. Or the writer Laura Ingalls Wilder, she died at age 90. Some authors live longer. Beverly Cleary, who turned 100 0n April 12, 2016, is one in that small but respected group.
Beverly Cleary is best known for kids' classics like "Henry Huggins". Over the years, she has sold more than 91 copies of her 39 books worldwide. She has been honored with everything from multiple Newbery Medals and Honors to a "Living Legend" designation(称号) from the Library of Congress.
Cleary is almost synonymous(同义的) with Portland, Oregon. She spent much of her young life in the city and turned her real-life experiences into children's books that contain real places which can still be visited today. Perhaps the best part of a Cleary-themed tour through the rose-decorated city is a trip to the sculpture garden built in her honor in Grant Park in northeast Portland.
The Beverly Cleary Sculpture Garden for Children was built by a group of librarians,
teachers and Portland locals eager to pay their respects to their favorite author of children's books. The park itself is featured in several Cleary books. It features life-sized statues of Ramona Quimby, Henry Huggins and Huggins'dog, Ribsy. Quotes(语录) from the books and fountains make the garden even more fun.

A. It is full of beautiful roses. B. It keeps all of Beverly Cleary's books.
C. It shows some characters in Cleary's books. D. It was built by the local government.

Technology has found a rapid growth in the field of communication. Nowadays people, though separated by distance, enjoy a good deal of communication between them through various technologies. Among them, communication through email plays an important role.
An email allows users to send messages to each other through the World Wide Web. This is achieved with the help of email addresses. For example, a person can contact another only if he has the email address of the person he wishes to contact. But the condition becomes worse when the user loses or forgets the email address, when the address has been changed or when the user wishes to contact a person whose email address is not known. To overcome these conditions, a method called email lookup has been adopted(采用)by the users.
Email lookup service is used to find the address of a person by means of his name, location, etc. Various email address directories, search engines and universities use this method to assist people in finding email addresses. Nowadays several softwares are also introduced to extract(选录) addresses from the Internet, which helps make people's work easier.
Users should be more careful and cautious while using email lookup. Many of the users go for traditional search techniques to find the personal information using public records. This may sometimes result in failure because the public records will not have the information of all the email addresses. Payable email lookup is also available but care should be taken while using it.
29. What is the purpose of the first two paragraphs?
A. To explain what communication is. B. To give an example for communication
C. To introduce the topic. D. To tell people how to use technology.
30. According to the passage, email lookup can help you _ .
A. get back your lost messages B. find someone 's email address
C. find someone's personal information D. surf the Internet at higher speed
31. Which of the following is NOT true about email lookup?
A. Users should take more care and be more cautious.
B. Many people still use public records to find the personal information.
C. Not all the email addresses appear in the public records.
D. People can not use payable email lookup yet.
