Tencent(腾讯)did a survey last week about the twochild policy. On the one hand, up to 53% of parents say they are ready to have a second child. “I am excited about hearing the news. It’s really good news for me. If we have two kids, the children can look after each other in the future. After someone finishes reading the book, he or she can water the book and put it in a sunny place inside the house. Once the seeds sprout(发芽),the book can be planted in the soil(土壤)in any place the owner decides. From then on, the book just has to be taken care of like any other plant.

Dear Laura,
Thanks for your message. Yes, I’m having a great time on my student exchange program in France. I was a bit nervous before I arrived here, but there was no reason to be. My host family is really nice. (69) They go out of their way to make me feel at home. The grandmother knows that I want to eat Chinese food. So she actually learned how to make Chinese food! She also has a teenage granddaughter about my age who is really kind. She always talks to me in French to help me practice. You wouldn’t believe how quickly my French has improved because of that.
My biggest challenge is learning how to behave at the dinner table. As you can imagine, things are different from the way they are at home. For example, you’re not supposed to put your bread on your plate. (70) 你应该把它放在餐桌上。I thought that was pretty strange at first, but now I’m used to it. Another example is that you’re not supposed to eat anything with your hands except bread, not even fruit. You have to cut it up and eat it with a fork. I have to say that I find it difficult to remember everything, but I’m gradually getting used to it. I don’t find French customs so strange anymore.
I’ll write again soon and tell you more about my life in France. Hope you’re having a good school year.
Yours,
Lin Yue

Can middle school students use mobile phones at school?
Nowadays, more and more teenagers use mobile phones. Can middle school students use mobile phones at school? Different students have different opinions about it.
Some students think they can use mobile phones at school. First, it’s convenient for them to call their parents, teachers or friends. Second, they can search what they need on mobile phones. For example, they can look up new words and look through news.
However, some students disagree. They think using mobile phones at school is a waste of time. Many students spend too much time on games and Wechat. Besides, it’s unhealthy for the body and the mind, such as hurting eyes, making some bad friends.
