By teaching your children healthy eating habits, and copying these behaviors in yourself, you can help your children keep a healthy weight and normal growth. Also, the eating habits your children pick up when they are young will help them keep a healthy lifestyle when they grow up.
Your child’s health care provider can evaluate(评估)your child’s weight and growth and let you know if your child needs to lose or gain weight or if any dietary changes need to be made.
Some of the most important parts of healthy eating are portion control and cutting down on how much fat and sugar your child eats or drinks. Simple ways to reduce fat intake in your child's diet and improve a healthy weight include serving:
•Low-fat or nonfat dairy products
•Poultry without skin
•Lean cuts of meats
•Whole grain breads and cereals
•Healthy snacks such as fruit and vegetables
Also, reduce the amount of sugar sweetened drinks and salt in your child’s diet.
If you are unsure about how to select and prepare a variety of foods for your family, ask a registered dietitian(营养师)for nutrition.
It is important that you do not place your overweight children on a restrictive (限制性的)diet. Children should never be placed on a restrictive diet to lose weight unless a doctor takes charge of one for medical reasons.
21. What are the most important parts of healthy eating your child controls?
A. Fat and sugar.
B. Water and meat.
C. Fruit and vegetables.
D. Whole grain breads and cereals.

“BANG” the door caused a reverberation. “Never set foot in this house again!” shouted father. With tears welling up in my eyes, I rushed out of the house and ran along the street.
A young father who held a child in his arms walked past me. I felt as if I saw my childhood from another space: happy and harmonious.
But now I don’t know whether it is because I have grown up or because Dad is getting old. It feels like there is an invisible door between us that can never be opened.
I wandered in the streets, without a destination in mind. My heart was frozen on this hot summer night. As I walked on there were fewer and fewer people on the streets, until I had only the streets to keep me company (陪伴) . When I finally reached the high-rise apartment block in which I lived, I saw that the light was still on.
I thought to myself, “ Is father waiting for me, or is he still angry with me?”
Dad was always like this. Maybe he didn’t know how to express himself. After shouting at me, he never showed any mercy or regret. After an argument, he will creep(蹑手蹑脚)up in my sleep room and then tuck(盖住)me underneath the covers.
This was how he always be. He has been a leader for so long that telling everyone else what to do has become his second nature.
The light was still on. With the key in hand, I was as nervous as I had ever been. At last, I decided to open the door. As soon as I opened the door tears ran down my cheeks. I suddenly realized that the iron door that I had imagined between us did not exist at all. Love — it is second to none.

B. she/he wished that the relation between him/her and his/her father could also be so harmonious
C. she/he felt that happiness had been far away from him/her
D. she/he admired them very much
26. Why do you think the father often shouts at his child?
A. Perhaps the father is getting older and older.
B. Perhaps the child has already grown up.
C. Perhaps they never agree with each other.
D. Perhaps the father has got used to doing that.
27. What conclusion can you draw after reading the passage?
A. The father treats his child in an unfair way.
B. The father is actually kind to his child.
C. The father is neither kind nor cruel to his child.
D. The father is always finding fault with his child.

Four years ago, we asked ourselves: what if we could create a shopping experience with no waiting in lines and no checkout? Or could we create a physical store where customers could simply take what they want and go? Our answer to those questions is Amazon Go, where you could experience the idea of “just walk out shopping”.
Amazon Go is a new kind of store with no checkout required. We created the world’s most advanced shopping technology, so you never have to wait in line. With our “just walk out shopping” experience, simply use the Amazon Go app to enter the stores take the products you want, and go! No lines, no checkout.
Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by the same types of technologies used in self-driving cars:computer vision, sensor fusion, and deep learning. Our “just walk out technology” automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in your virtual cart. When you’ve done shopping, you can just leave the store. Shortly after,we’ll charge your Amazon account and send you a receipt.
We offer delicious ready-to-eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack options made fresh every day by our on-site chefs and favorite local kitchens and bakeries. Our selection of foodstuff ranges from bread and milk to cheeses and locally made chocolates. You’ll find well-known brands we love, plus special finds we're excited to introduce to customers. For a quick home-cooked dinner, pick up one of our chef-designed Amazon Meal Kits, and you can make a meal for two in about 30 minutes.
Our 1,800-square-foot shopping space is conveniently compact (紧凑的), so busy customers can get in and out fast. It is located at 2131,7th Ave,Seattle,WA,on the corner of 7th Avenue and Blanchard Street. All you need is an Amazon account, a

Suppose we built a robot to explore the planet Mars. We provide the robot with seeing detectors to keep it away from danger. It is powered entirely by the sun. Should we program the robot to be equally active at all times? No. The robot would be using up energy at a time when it was not receiving any. So we would probably program it to stop its activity at night and to wake up at
dawn the next morning.
According to the evolutionary ( 进化的) theory of sleep, evolution equipped us with a regular pattern of sleeping and waking for the same reason. The theory does not deny that sleep provides some important restorative (恢复的) functions. It merely says that evolution has programmed us to perform those functions at a time when activity would be inefficient and possibly dangerous. However, sleep protects us only from the sort of trouble we might walk into; it does not protect us from trouble that comes looking for us. So we sleep well when we are in a familiar, safe place, but we sleep lightly, if at all, when we fear that bears will nose into the tent.
The evolutionary theory explains the differences in sleep among creatures. Why do cats, for instance, sleep so much, while horses sleep so little? Surely cats do not need five times as much repair and restoration as horses do. But cats can afford to have long periods of inactivity because they spend little time eating and are unlikely to be attacked while they sleep. Horses must spend almost all their waking hours eating, because what they eat is very low in energy value. Moreover, they cannot afford to sleep too long or too deeply, because their survival depends on their ability to run away from attackers.
32. The author uses the example of the robot in space exploration to tell us ______.
A. the differences between robots and men
B. the reason why men need to sleep
C. about the need for robots to save power
D. about the danger of men working at night
33. Evolution has programmed man to sleep at night chiefly to help him ______.
A. keep up a regular pattern of life
B. prevent trouble that comes looking for him
C. avoid danger and inefficient labour
D. restore his bodily functions
34. Cats sleep much more than horses do partly because cats _______.
A. need more time for restoration
B. are unlikely to be attackers
C. are more active than horses when they are awake
D. spend less time eating to get enough energy
35. Which of the following is the main idea of the passage?
A. Evolution has equipped all creatures with a regular pattern of sleeping and waking.
B. The study of sleep is an important part the evolutionary theory.
C. Sleeping patterns must be taken into consideration in the designing of robots.
D. The sleeping pattern of a living creature is determined by the food it eats.

Imagine being asked to spend twelve or so years of your life in a society that consisted only of members of your own sex,how would you react? 36 But the fact is that segregated(隔离)schools shoot up very rapidly around the world, and so many parents choose to force such abnormal conditions on their children-conditions which they themselves wouldn’t put up with for one minute!
37 Those advocates of segregated schools argue that children from segregated schools have greater achievements academically, socially in athletic and have greater self-confidence.
Further, there are many more practical advantages in segregated schools:adolescent problems can be dealt with better and more easily. 38 It is a wonderful proof of their worth.
On the other side.those advocates of co-education point out that any discussion of this topic is bound to question the aims of education. One of the chief aims of education is equip future citizens with all they require to take their places in adult society which is made up of men and women. When segregated, boys and girls are made to feel that they are a race apart.Competition between the sexes is developed.39 Children from segregated schools sometimes lack healthy attitude to life that co-education encourages.
To sum up,every coin has double sides.40 It is about time somebody exploded(驳倒) that theory about segregated schools being the better place for your
children.
A.You would react as if you were a puzzled parent.
B.Lastly in many countries, the most famous schools are segregated.
C.Anyone entering adult society after years of segregation can only be in for a shock.
D.Unless there was something wrong with you, you wouldn’t be too happy about it.

W: She had no memory of the past ten minutes. (16) She wanted to go back in the pool. She didn’t even know why her parents were crying.

Hi, students! This is Ashley Jacobs, your student government president. (17) I have some important information for everyone about activities on campus this year. I promise that there will be something fun for everyone to do. Do you like sports? I know everyone is a fan of our football team. And now there are two new teams at school this year. We have added a baseball team and a swim team. (18) Or do you enjoy creative activities? Student government created an art club and a music club for people with artistic abilities. Both of these groups have events all year long. The art club hosts
painting nights and trips to the local museum, and the music club goes to see shows at the concert hall. (19) And don’t forget about the school newspaper for all the writers out there! We pass out the paper every week for free on campus. Read it to keep up with all of the school news and activities that I announced. I strongly recommend that you join a student organization. It is an easy way to make good friends and have fun. Please consider joining one of these groups today. (20)
