作文:
Dear James,
I’m more than/excessively delighted that you asked about the characteristics/features of Chinese classical music and the instruments with which it is played. Needless to say/Undoubtedly/As is widely accepted, classical music seldom fails to fascinate people.
Just as Chinese characters, the same pronunciation with different tunes will convey different meanings, making it attractive but difficult for learners, especially beginners, to master one instrument. What’s more, closely connected to Chinese poetry, those famous pieces often come with a poetic title, among which is “gaoshanliushui”, literally meaning “high mountains and flowing water”. Whenever it is played, an imagined picture unfolds before listeners’ eyes. Then, as for the classical instruments favored by Chinese people, the Pipa and the Guzheng usually come at the top of the list. Should you take up an instrument, I am always at your service.
Hopefully, these above help you appreciate Chinese classical music.
Yours,
Li Hua

M: Oh, yes. I watched Farewell My Concubine once.
W: What did you think about the show?
M: Hmm... I love the style of singing, which is very impressive, and the costumes are very beautiful. Oh, yes, the actors’ face painting was interesting.

W: May I ask where you’re from?

M: Maybe that was partly because you were too nervous.
W: Yes, you’re right. But after I fell down several times, I began to get the hang of it.
M: It must have been a thrilling speeding down the mountain.
W: It surely was. When I could finally ski with ease, I was able to enjoy the beautiful scenery: fresh cool

M: Hi, Amy Purdy, and welcome to our club.

M: Yeah, Why do you say that?
W: Because my legs haven’t disabled me. They forced me to rely on my imagination and to believe in the possibilities, which make me the highest ranked adaptive female snowboarder in the world.
M: It’s you that teach us we can do anything and we can be anything in our mind. Thank you so much!
Text 10
Shirley Ratliff has been taking three different buses to get to work every day at Bruegger’s Bagel Shop in Raleigh, North Carolina where she has worked since 2006. The 47-year-old worker had been saving for a car but that money was consumed by the cost of cancer treatments she was faced with a few years back. Ratliff has a group of loyal customers, who call themselves" The Shirley Fan Club", wanted to make things a little easier for her. They decided to pool their resources and get her a car. When asked why they did this for Ratliff, one of them explained that Shirley always has a smile and that she takes care of all of them. Perhaps it was their way of taking care of her, too.
