书面表达
Despite the prejudice against it, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), which has won a place
in the world with its long history and great contributions, proves effective in battling COVID-19
and deserves promotion.
Admittedly, traditional Chinese Medicine is of great cultural and practical value. For one
thing, TCM reflects the essence of our ancestors’ wisdom. Advocating it can boost our cultural
confidence. For another, TCM treats emerging infections such as COVID-19 effectively.
Meanwhile, taking acupuncture for example, the WHO recommends it as a good treatment for
over forty medical problems.
We Chinese should make great efforts to preserve our culture by promoting TCM. To begin
with, campaigns about TCM may be launched by local communities or medical institutions to
educate people on the effects of TCM. Plus, governments should invest more in the development
of the TCM at home and abroad. When the doubts about it fade away, the world will embrace it.

Text 2
M: Look at the beautiful old house.
W: It’s very pretty. Oh, look over there. That’s a little shop.
M: I didn’t know traveling by train could be so much fun.
Text 3M: My brother is coming tomorrow to ask a specialist about his illness.
W: Would you like me to come with you to the airport?
Text 4
M: The train delayed for ten minutes this morning. I was late for work again.
W: Well, I took the bus last month and I was late for work almost every day. Now, I am back again
to driving to work.
Text 5

M: Really? It’s been reported that he’ll return home one day ahead of plan.

M: Exactly.
Text 6
M: Do you take your dog for a walk every day?
W: No, my father takes the dog for a walk every Monday, Tuesday and Sunday. And I take the dog
for a walk every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
M: Who takes the dog on Saturday?

W: Actually, I’ve given up the job. Yesterday was my last day.
M: Really? That’s a bit unexpected. The workers there always seem quite happy and relaxed. Or
you didn’t get along with the boss?
W: That wasn’t the problem. It was me. I was just getting far behind with my studies and I

M: Have you been worried about this for a long time then?
W: Well, no, last term I was able to keep up, and my marks were fine, but there’s so much to do
now, such as writing longer essays.
M: Sure, but I never thought of you finding it difficult, like I often do! All the way along, you’ve

W: Good morning, Camping Bags and Tents, Oxford Street. How can I help you?

Text 10
W: This is the Air Museum Information Line. In the museum, you can see 140 old planes. It’s one
of the biggest air museums in Europe. The museum is 48 miles from London and is not far
away from the village of Cherford. You can get there by car, or if you come to the village by
train, take the No. 51 bus from Cherford Station. In summer, the museum is open every day
from ten in the morning to seven. In winter, it closes earlier, at four o’clock. A ticket for adults
is £6, and for children and students it’s £4. 50. For families there’s a special ticket which
costs £18. This year we have something extra for visitors. You can go up in a small plane that
was built in 1930 and see the countryside from the air. You can only do this on Sundays and you
should book this trip seven days before you come.
