英语听力原文
Text 1
W: What did you order? It looks delicious. I should have gotten that instead of steak.
M: It’s spaghetti with a meat and vegetable sauce. The sauce here is so good. They use fresh vegetables and good quality meat. This dish is my favorite!
Text 2
M: Thanks for studying with me yesterday. I was so worried about the French test. But I got a really good grade!
W: Congratulations! 1 don’t know my grade yet. I’m so nervous! I hope I did well too.
Text 3
M: How did you do in your race today, Teresa? Did everything go well?
w: I was leading the entire way until the last loop around the track. Then two people passed me.
M: That’s not bad at all. Good for you!
Text 4
M: What was that sound? Is someone outside the house?
5
w: I don’t know. It woke me up, too! It’s six o’clock in the morning! I have to get up for work soon.
M: Look out of the window – it’s an animal getting into the trash!
Text 5
W: Would you like a piece of cake ? I just had it delivered to our office from the cake shop.
rM: Thanks! But I’m still pretty full from lunch. My department had a big meal in the Italian restaurant downstairs.
Text 6
M: Did you see the news on TV this weekend? There was a disaster in a town near here! With many stormy days, a dam broke and the whole town flooded. Thankfully all the people either escaped over the bridge out of town or were rescued. Everyone in the town survived.
W: I heard about that from my friend! Her family lives in that town. He said the people are all okay, but their houses were ruined from the water.
M: Oh, no. That’s so sad. At least they’re all okay. We should go over there and see if anyone needs our help!
Text 7
M: French class is so difficult. I thought it was supposed to be similar to English.
W: Only because some words are the same. The grammar is different, though.
M: For me, I just need to practice what I have learned. I study all day, but I don’t get a chance to practice it.
W: I’m lucky, because I can speak with my French cousins. That’s why I chose to study French in the first place.
M: Do you think you could help me?
W: Of course. Come over on Wednesday nights. I watch a French movie with my family and we have French meals.
M: Cool! It will be just like taking a trip to France!
Text 8
W: I’m giving my speech on global warming on Monday. Could you give me some advice?
M: Sure. What’s it about?
W: Everyone has to choose a different aspect of global warming-like rising sea levels, storms, or extreme heat. Mine is about how ocean plant life is dying because the ocean is getting too hot.
M: So what’s the problem?
W: Well, I’ve done a lot of research, so answering questions isn’t the problem. I’m happy with my speech, too. But how to begin the speech isn’t easy for me.
M: That’s completely normal.
W: I looked online for speech tips, but none of them are helpful.
M: You should give the speech to your family and friends as much as possible.
W: So...you’d like to hear it?
M: of course! You know what they say, “Practice makes perfect.”
Text 9
W: This weather must be quite a change from what you’re used to, Kyle.
M: Oh, yes. I haven’t ever seen any snow back in Manila. This is awesome!
5
W: You should see the snow in Toronto. It gets a lot deeper there than here in Vancouver.
M: Really? My father has to clear the road in front of our house today. Then we will use all the snow to make a snowman. It is almost five inches deep!
W: I heard on the weather forecast we will have another two inches by the end of the week.
M: It is so beautiful. When it started snowing last night, I sat by my window for at least an hour watching it. It was so exciting!
W: I agree. My parents say the roads can get really dangerous, though.
M: Oh, I never thought of that.
W: Personally, I hate it when we lose electricity. Sometimes it lasts for hours.
M: Do you think they will cancel school tomorrow?
W: We’ll have to wait and see.
Text 10
My younger brother had always been angry that I had a cell phone and he didn’t. At least, that’s what I thought. You see, he was two years younger than me. Since we were little kids, Daniel always wanted to play with me. When I turned 17, my father gave me a new phone. I spent a lot of time on that phone. Daniel stopped asking me to do things with him. I didn’t miss him much, because I was busy. When I turned 19, I was in college. I got an electronic card from Daniel for my birthday. The message said, “Put your phone down and look at what’s around you!” So I decided to turn my phone off for a day. It was hard! I missed the updates from my friends. I missed playing games. At the same time, I realized that I missed my brother even more. The next morning I called Daniel and invited him to visit me. Since then, we’ve become closer than ever. I still use my phone, but my brother is more important.
