With the encouragement from both central and local governments, street vendoring is gaining its popularity again nationwide. Assistance is also provided by China’s tech giants to guarantee its smooth development.
The advantages of street vendoring can be listed as follows. Firstly, it will fuel economic growth. Secondly, it also brings more job opportunities to people whose incomes have sharply decreased in the epidemic, ensuring a secure and stable society. Thirdly, street vendoring provides various commodities at a relatively low price, which satisfy the demands of customers.
Personally speaking, to promote the healthy development of street vendoring, we’d better take the suggestions below into consideration. Street vendors should be regulated to minimize the negative influences on the surroundings. Additionally, administrators are expected to strengthen their supervision to rid the market of fake and inferior products.
I firmly believe, with joint effort, street vendoring will be an effective way to revive the economy.

W: A lot of people have to think about safety in their jobs. But for pilots, safety is extremely important, isn’t it?
M: Absolutely. To get an airline pilot’s license you need a minimum number of hours’ flying time. You must have at least 1,500 hours. And you must be at least 23 years old.

M: We have a lot of checklists. There are things you must always check before each flight. The first thing is, you walk around the plane, outside, and check that ... you know, nothing’s broken.

M: Actually, most planes have breaks in their wings. Very, very small ones. It’s perfectly safe.
W: Right. And you can still land if an engine breaks down, can’t you?
M: You can take off if an engine breaks down. If it happens a few seconds before take-off, um ... the procedure is, you mustn’t try to stop, because the runway isn’t long enough. So you take off, fly around the airport, and then land again.

Right, everyone—about the trip to the Jubilee Arts Center next Wednesday. As you know, we have tickets for the Center’s two theaters. Those with tickets for the main theater will see Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, while people going to the smaller theater will see The Wild Duck by Ibsen. Although all the theater and concert tickets have gone, if anyone else would like to join us on the trip I can get tickets for the Arts Center cinema to see the Australian comedy film, Spider and Rose. The shows begin at 7:30, but we’ll leave early so you can spend time looking around the Arts Center. The bus will leave here at 3:30 and arrive at the Arts Center at about 4:45. In the Art Gallery of the Center there’s an exhibition of the history of Russian ballet. It has dresses and shoes worn by famous dancers and photos of past performances. With your student card, you can get in very cheaply. There are also some interesting free exhibitions. On the ground floor you can see many paintings, and gold jewelry made by Scottish artists. On the first floor there’s an exhibition of South American photographs, and there’s no charge for that either. The shows will finish at 10:10 or 10:15. After the shows the bus will pick us up at the Bridge Street exit. Everyone should be there by 10:20. OK, that’s all. Thank you.
