Teaching procedures
Step1. Ask the students the following questions:(5 minutes)
What’s your favourite place in your city?
How do you get there?
How far is it from your home to the city?
Who’s famous in your city?
What food is famous in your city?
Step2.Encourage the students to find more important information in the sentences. (10 minutes)
Students answer the questions.and find important information.
Step3. Ask the students to read the sentences and summarize the important words. (20 minutes)
1. Play the dialogue for the students, remind them to pay attention to the stressed words.
2. Ask the students to read after the tape.
3.Practice the dialogue in pairs.
Students read and summarize,listen to the tape and read after the tape.
Step4. Write the sentence below on the blackboard, read them one by one. (10minutes)
1.Listen and understand how to express different meanings by stressing different words.
2.Read the sentences aloud.
3. Read the sentence in different ways.
4.Finish the exercises in Part B.
Give the students more sentences to practice.
Read the sentences in the book, and pay attention to the stressed works.
Step5:.Finish the exercises in the workbook. ( 5 minutes)
Make the students know what the important information is in each sentence.
