Did you know that tea, the most popular drink in the world, was invented by accident?

Many people believe that tea was first drunk about 5,000 years ago.
据说一位名叫神农的中国统治者首次发现茶可以作为一种饮料。
It is said that a Chinese ruler called Shen Nong was first to discover tea as a drink.
有一天神农在户外正烧开水。
One day Shen Nong was boiling drinking water over an open fire.
茶树上的几片叶子落入热水里,
Some leaves from a tea plant fell into the water,
留在热水里一会儿,
and remained there for some time.
水里散发出一股怡人的香味,
It produced a nice smell,
于是他品尝了这棕色的水。
so he tasted the brown water.
水非常香醇。
It was quite delicious,
就这样,世界上最喜欢的饮料之一发明了。
and so, one of the world’s favorite drinks was invented.
