专题限时集训(三十) 概要写作(Ⅰ) A (2019·浙江浙南名校联盟期末) 阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇 60 词左右的内容概要。 For years, music classes have been the ugly ducklings of school curriculums(课 程)—the last courses to be added, the first courses to be cut. When students and parents are asked to rate subjects according to their importance, music is unavoidably at the bottom of the list.Music is nice, people seem to say,but not important.Too often it is viewed as mere entertainment, but certainly not an education preference. This view is shortsighted. In fact, music education is beneficial and important for all students. Music tells us who we are.Because music is an expression of the beings that create it and reflects the thinking and values of the social environments it came from.Rock music represents a lifestyle just as surely as a Schubert song does. The jazz influence that George Gershwin and other musicians introduced into their music is obviously American because it came from American musical traditions.Music expresses our character and values. It gives us identity as a society. Participation in music also brings social benefits for students.Music is a way to make friends. Some researchers completed a study dealing with the perceived benefits of music. In their findings they wrote ,“ Participating in musical groups or bands was regarded as an opportunity to socialize with likeminded people, make new friends and meet interesting people, whom without the musical engagement they would not have had the opportunity to meet”.Every time students are involved in music, they have the chance to meet new people and form lasting friendships. Some people might think that music will consume too much of students' time. However , music education greatly improves students' understanding and achievement in nonmusical subjects.A tenyear study, which tracks over 25,000 middle and high school students, shows that students in music classes receive higher scores on standardized tests than students with little or no musical involvement. The musical students score,on average,63 points higher on the language section and 44 points higher on the math section of the SATs than nonmusic students. When applying to colleges , these points could be the difference between an acceptance letter and a rejection letter. 【参考范文】 Though neglected by schools and students for long, music education is actually of great benefit and importance.( 要 点 1)Music offers people a sense of identity by reflecting one's thoughts, values and social environment.(要点 2)Also,involvement in music provides students an opportunity to socialize and develop lifelong friendships.(要 点 3)Besides,as a study reveals, students who receive music education have their academic performance greatly enhanced and consequently win advantages during college application.(要点 4) B 阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇 60 词左右的内容概要。 In modern society there is a great deal of argument about competition. Some value it highly, believing that it is beneficial for social progress and prosperity.Others say that competition is bad, that it sets one person against another and that it leads to unfriendly relationship between people. I have taught many children who hold the belief that their selfworth relies on how well they perform at tennis and other skills. For them, playing well and winning are often life and death affairs. In their single minded pursuit( 追 求 ) of success , the development of many other human qualities is sadly forgotten. However, while some seem to be lost in the desire to succeed, others take an opposite attitude. In a culture which values only the winner and pays no attention to the ordinary players, they strongly blame competition.Among the most vocal are youngsters who have suffered under competitive pressures from their parents or society.Teaching these young people,I often observe a desire to fail in them. They seem to seek failure by not trying to win or achieve success.By not trying ,they always have an excuse :“I may have lost ,but it doesn't matter because I really didn't want to try. ”What is not usually admitted by them is the belief that if they had really tried and lost, that would mean a lot. Such a loss would be a measure of their worth.Clearly, this belief is the same as that of the true competitors who try to prove themselves. Both are based on the mistaken belief that one's self respect relies on how well one performs in comparison with others. Both are afraid of not being valued.Only as this basic and often troublesome fear begins to dissolve(消失) can they discover a new meaning in competition. 【参考范文】 Nowadays, opinions about competition are divided:some people say it's of great value while others think differently.(要点 1)To some children, what they long for in life is success and they ignore to build up their characters in other aspects.(要点 2)However, others view it from an opposite angle, the spirit of competition is not favored and they never make an attempt.(要点 3)To be frank, the significance of competition can be discovered only when people get over the fear of failure.(要点 4)
