(2018·山东济南天桥期末)When my grandmother was 89 years old, she had

some problems with her heart. All of us were worried about her health.
So one day my family went with her to the doctor, who told her that she needed
an operation(手术). But because of her age, the operation could be dangerous. He
went on to say that my grandmother would have a 40 percent chance of having a
heart attack(心脏病发作) and a 30 percent chance of dying during the operation.
My grandmother, who was quite shocked, said to the doctor, “Doctor, as long as
you're talking about statistics(数据), I have a statistic for you: There is a 100 percent
chance of you not operating on me!” With these words, my grandmother got up and
left the doctor's office.
My grandmother might have been stubborn(执拗的), but she was not a fool. So
