❶ride的用法
I ride my bike. 我骑自行车。(P13)
ride可用作动词,也可用作名词。walk,drive的用法与其相同。例如:
It’s about 10 minutes’ walk.步行大约十分钟。
It’s about 5 minutes’ drive.开车大约五分钟。
❷how far的用法
How far is it from your home to school?从你家到学校有多远?(P15)
how far意为“多远”,用于询问A和B两地之间的距离。常用句型:How far is it from A to B?答语:It’s...meters/kilometers/miles...
辨析how far与how long
how far用来提问距离,how long用来提问物体的长度或时间的长短。例如:
How far is it from your home to the library?从你家到图书馆有多远?
How long will it take to get to Beijing?到北京要花多长时间?
❸between的用法
There is a very big river between their school and the village. 在他们的学校和村庄之间有一条非常大的河。(P17)
辨析between与among
1.between表示“在两者之间”,常与and连用。例如:
Summer comes between spring and autumn.春天和秋天之间是夏天。
2.among指“在三者或三者以上事物之间”。例如:
The young singer is singing a song among the people.这位年轻的歌手正站在人群中间唱歌。
❹afraid的用法
But he is not afraid because he loves school. 但是他并不害怕,因为他爱学校。(P17)
1.be afraid of sb./sth.”意为“害怕某人或某物”;be afraid of+doing意为“害怕发生某种情况”。例如:
She’s afraid of dogs.她怕狗。
2.be afraid to do sth.意为“不敢做某事”。例如:
He’s afraid to ride a bike.他不敢骑自行车。
3.“be afraid+that从句”意为“恐怕/担心……”,或表示委婉地回绝某人。例如:
I’m afraid that he can’t speak English.我担心他不会说英语。
❺leave的用法
Many of the students and villagers never leave the village.很多学生和村民从未离开过村庄。(P17)

leave用作动词,意为“离开;留下”。leave for表示“前往某地”,后跟所要到达的目的地;leave...for意为“离开……去(某地)(另一地)”。例如:
They’ll leave Japan for China tomorrow.他们明天将离开日本去中国。
