Step 1 Greeting & lead-in
T: Hello, everyone! How are you today?
T: I know what you often do on weekdays. But I don’t know what you often do on weekends. So what do you often do on weekends?
T: Well, to me, I often help my mom do some housework.(show Ss the pictures of housework and have Ss say what housework they are.)
Ss: do the dishes, wash the clothes, take out the trash, sweep the floor, make the bed, do some cooking
T: What housework would you like to do?
Step II Presentation
T: Great. You can help your mom, and you can also help other people.
Look at these people who are in trouble. What’s the matter with them?(show Ss the pictures)
T: look at the children , they are in the hospital. What’s wrong?
T: Yes. They are sick people.
(use same way to present poor students, homeless people, people who are in hunger)
They are not very happy in their life. Let’s do something to cheer them up.
What will you do to cheer them up?
To the sick children, ( show some pictures and some phrasal verbs to help Ss talk)
(Use same way to have Ss tell what they’ll help these people.)
They talk about the housework with their teacher.

T: Here, they are talking about what volunteer work they’d like to do. Let’s listen and pay attention to the phrasal verbs.
