词汇精讲
1. family/home/house
(1) family意为“家,家庭”,强调家庭或家庭中的每个成员,不包括房屋。例如:
I love my family. 我爱我家。
The whole family will spend their holiday in Hainan.这一家人将在海南度假。
(2) home意为“家,家乡”,强调家庭成员居住的环境或气氛,有时也可指出生的城市或国家,而不能指人。例如:
I have to stay at home alone tonight. 今晚我不得不一个人待在家里。
Mr. Li’s home is in Beijing. 李先生的家在北京。
(3) house意为“房子,房屋”,侧重指住所(即建筑物),表示地点。例如:
There are lots of trees in front of my house. 我家前面有许多树。
2. work hard/ hard work
(1) work hard属于动词短语,意为“努力工作/学习”,在句中充当谓语,其中hard为副词。例如:
We must work hard at all our lessons. 我们必须努力学习所有课程。
(2) hard work是名词短语,意为“艰苦的工作”,在句中可作主语、宾语或表语等,hard为形容词。例如:
It’s really hard work to plant tree on the mountain. 在山上种树真是艰苦的工作。
3. on the wall/in the wall
(1) on the wall指在墙的表面,如墙上的画、地图等。例如:
There is a map of the world on the wall.墙上有一张世界地图。
The beautiful picture is on the wall. 那张漂亮的画在墙上。
(2) in the wall指某物在墙的内部,如窗户、洞等。例如:
There are two windows in the wall. 墙上有两扇窗户。
4. sound/noise/voice
(1) sound可以指人或动物发出的声音,或物体碰撞的声音。这个词的使用范围很大。可以说,大自然的任何“声音”都可以用sound。例如:
Light travels much faster than sound.光的传播速度比声音快得多。
(2) noise意为“噪音”、“喧闹声”,常指不悦耳、不和谐的嘈杂声。例如:
Don’t make any noise! 别吵闹!
The noise wakes me up.噪音吵醒了我!
(3) voice一般指人的声音,说话、唱歌、谈笑都可用voice。sound和noise不仅能指人的声音,还可以表示别的动物发出的声音,而voice除了有时可指鸟的声音外,很少表示其它动物的声音。例如:
The girl has a beautiful voice.那女孩嗓音很美。
They are talking in low voices.他们正小声交谈。
When the teacher came into the classroom,our monitor spoke in a loud voice,“Stand up!”
老师走进教室时,班长大声喊:“起立!”
5. find out/find/look for
这一组词均有“寻找,找”的含义。find强调找的结果,表示“找到”;find out强调经过仔细调查、分析,表示“弄清楚,弄明白”;look for强调找的动作,表示“寻找”。例如:
Tim is looking for his little dog. Tim正在找他的小狗。
I want to find out what time the train leaves.我想弄清楚火车几点钟出发。
I found the dog there. 我发现那只狗在那里。

6. very/very much
(1) very用来修饰形容词或副词。例如:
She speaks English very well. 她英语说得非常好。
I have a very nice dress. 我有一条很漂亮的连衣裙。
(2) very much用来修饰动词,放在句末,不能修饰形容词或副词。例如:
He likes songs very much. 他非常喜欢歌曲。
Thank you very much. 非常感谢你。
7. China’s/of China
(1) China’s 意为“中国的”,作定语修饰名词时,说明该名词与China是一种所属或所拥有的关系。例如:
China’s capital中国的首都 China’s Women Volleyball Team中国女排队
(2) of China意为“中国的”,作定语修饰名词时,位于被修饰的词后面。由于of的作用,它除了表示所属关系外,还会有其他意义。例如:
a map of China一张中国地图(指这张地图是表示中国的)
8. else/other
(1) else常用来修饰不定代词、疑问代词和疑问副词,而且要放在这些词的后面。例如:
Do you have anything else to say?你还有别的事情要说吗?
Where else do you see the sign? 你在别的地方见过这个标志吗?
(2) other主要用来修饰名词,而且要放在名词之前。例如:
I remember I read about it in some other books. 我记得我在别的书中读过这一点。

1. be ready to do sth.
be ready to do sth.意为“准备好做……”。例如:
The students are ready to clean the house for the old lady. 学生们准备好为那位老奶奶打扫房子。

2. use…to do sth.
use…to do…意为“用……去做”。例如:
I use a pen to write. 我用钢笔写字。
Jenny is using a knife to cut meat. Jenny正在用刀切肉。
【拓展】use经常与for或as连用,构成短语use...for…,意为“用来做……,为了……而使用”; “use...as…意为“作为……使用,用作……”。 例如:

3. How can we get there?
(1) 这是询问交通方式的特殊疑问句,也可写作How to get there? how此处用作疑问副词,意为“怎么;怎么样;以什么方式”。例如:

4. Let’s do sth.
“let’s + 动词原形”是表示建议或请求的祈使句句型,意为“让我们做……吧”。例如:
Let’s go to school. 咱们上学吧。
Let’s play basketball after school. 咱们放学后打篮球吧。
【拓展】
(1) let sb. do sth.意为“让/使某人做某事”。例如:
Let me help you. 让我帮助你。
His mother doesn’t let him go out at night. 他母亲不让他晚上出去。
(2) 表示“使/让某人做某事”的结构还有:make sb do sth。例如:
The boss made them work for long time. 老板让他们长时间工作。
They made us forget past. 他们使我们忘记了过去。
5. would like….
(1) would like sth.意为“想要某物”。 例如:
Would you like some oranges? =Do you want some oranges? 你想吃些桔子吗?
(2) would like to do sth. 例如:
Would you like to drink a cup of tea? =Do you want to drink a cup of tea? 你想喝杯茶吗?
(3) would like sb. to do sth. 例如:
Would you like me to meet your family? = Do you want me to meet your family?
你想要我见一见你的家人吗?
注意:

(1) Would you like...?中like后不可接动词-ing形式,而“Do you like...?”中like后却可以。例如:
Do you like swimming? 你喜欢游泳吗?
Would you like to come to my party? 你愿意来我的聚会吗?
(2) 对于Would you like...? 提出的建议或要求,肯定回答常用“Yes, please.”或“Yes, I would love / like to. (I would可缩写为I’d);否定回答常用 “No, thanks.”。
对于Do you like...? 的答语,肯定回答用“Yes, I do.”;否定回答用“No, I don't.”
