Five years ago, however, all Tanam could do was to stay in bed until noon, and then stare at the sky through the window, waiting for his parents' return.‎ His mother Yangzom said she had no other choice but to lock him in the house every day as she and her husband had to work and they did not want to allow the boy to roam(闲逛) the streets.‎ ‎“Every day when I came back home and saw my lonely poor son, I felt my heart hurt. But now I can finally feel a bit relieved,” the mother said. She said it was the school that changed her son. “Without the school, I dare not imagine how my son would be now.”‎ With a governmental fund of 4.5 million yuan, the special education school was founded in 2000. The only governmentrun school for handicapped children in Tibet, it now has 28 teachers and 120 school children in nine classes of 5 grades. Eight classes in the school are for deaf kids and the other one is for blind kids.‎ Students can enjoy free food, boarding, clothing and medical services in the school, which is open to deaf and blind children from all over the autonomous region.‎ Tibetan sign language and Tibetan Braille are basic courses here. Children also have Tibetan, Chinese, mathematics, science, painting, dancing and sports lessons.‎ A “black and white” textbook seemed appealing among the colorful books in Tanam's schoolbag. The text was handwritten.‎ It was the Tibetan language textbook compiled and written by teachers themselves.‎ ‎“As textbooks for students in ordinary schools sometimes are too abstract and hard for our kids to understand, two other Tibetan language teachers and I compiled the textbook to make things easier for them,” said teacher Dawa.‎ Those books with the love of all the teachers, though not spoke out, will surely help children enjoy their life by supporting themselves after leaving the school.‎ ‎1.How old was Dainzin Tanam when he began to go to the Lhasa Special Education School?‎ A.16 years old. B.11 years old.‎ C.21 years old. D.5 years old.‎ ‎2.What is the parents' feeling about the special education school?‎ A.Relieved. B.Excited.‎ C.Grateful. D.Lighthearted.‎ ‎3.Who wrote the “black and white” textbooks for the children?‎ A.Dawa.‎ B.The teachers in the special school.‎ C.Dawa and another two teachers.‎ D.Nobody but sent by the government.‎ ‎4.We can infer from the text that ________.‎ A.most of the handicapped children in this school are from poor families B.the students are of the same age in the Lhasa Special Education School C.the teachers made up textbooks for the students to study more easily D.the education received from the school will have a great effect on the children's future life 答案:‎ ‎1. 根据第四段最后一句“Without the school, I dared not imagine how my son would be now.”可知选C。‎ 由莲山课件提供http://www.5ykj.com/ 资源全部免费 由莲山课件提供http://www.5ykj.com/ 资源全部免费 答案:C ‎3.解析:根据文章倒数第二段的“two other Tibetan language teachers and I”可知是由Dawa和另外两位老师编写的。 A B A good relationship with a teacher today may help you in the future. You will need teachers' written recommendations(推荐信) to apply to a college or for a job after high school. And if you're thinking about going into a career in science, who is better to ask about the field than your science teacher?‎ ‎ If you don't get along well with your teachers, you can try to do this. Before you try to get out of a class to escape a teacher you don't like, here are a few things you can try to make a difficult relationship work:‎ ‎ ● Ask yourself, “ What can I learn from this teacher?” Even if you don't worship (崇拜) his or her personality or lectures, dig deep until you find a subject in which he or she is very knowledgeable. Focus on that part of the teacher's personality, and regard him or her as a tool for learning. Not only will you gain more knowledge in that subject, but a closer relationship with your teacher may help you understand one another better.‎ ‎ ●Talk to students who are doing well in the class and ask them for tips, tools, and a plan of action to get along with the teacher better. If you're too shy to talk to another student, study his or her actions and behavior in the classroom and try to follow that lead.‎ ‎ ●If you still can't get along, make an appointment with the school guidance counselor(辅导员). He or she will offer many tips and suggestions for you to get out of difficult teacher relationships. Sometimes a guidance counselor can act as a mediator (调停者) between you and the teacher. That means they can help you and your teachers get rid of the bad impression on each other.‎ ‎ ●If your relationship problems can't be solved in school, then it's time to tell your parents or guardians. Let them meet with your teacher and try to work it out.‎ ‎ Teachers are there for more than just homework, and they know about more than just their subject matter. They can help you learn how to function as an adult and a lifelong learner. Undoubtedly, there will be a few teachers along the way who you'll always remember—and who might change your life forever.‎ ‎5.
